Wordle has proven so popular that not only has it spawned droves and droves of clones, but The New York Times saw fit to buy it up.

Apparently Worldle managed to attract over 500,000 players (opens in new tab) on its first day, which is impressive. More specifically, Worldle (opens in new tab) provides an image of a country, the name of which has to be guessed within six attempts. But web developer and Twitter user @teuteuf (opens in new tab) has a more novel approach: Wordle, except for the world.

Unlike Worldle, Globle offers no initial clue as to what the correct country might be. Like Wordle, you can only play it once a day and you get only six guesses to identify the country. Worldle isn't the only Wordle inspired game for travel lovers.

Similarly to Wordle, you can add a difficulty level to the game to make it more challenging. Worldle is played similarly to the classic Wordle with its one answer a day structure. Very aptly, this game is called Worldle. One replica is seeing similar success. That makes me feel so good,” he said.
