Taron Egerton Says He's Ready for Marvel Role Amid Wolverine ... (The Direct)

Actor Taron Egerton responded to rumors of him portraying the MCU's Wolverine, and expressed interest in a role within the franchise.

James McAvoy is the actor who portrayed a younger Charles Xavier in the more recent X-Men movies, but if Marvel Studios is looking for someone older, they will have to find a new actor. He compared the franchise to the James Bond film saga and said that "it would be exciting:" It is not impossible for Jackman to make another appearance as Wolverine, but with the actor in his early 50s, many fans believe it's time for another person to fill the shoes of the character. Those movies are the most watched movies in the world. Taron Egerton on Potential Wolverine Role: 'That's Like Playing Bond' (CBR)

Kingsman star Taron Egerton is up for a potential role as Wolverine in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, comparing it to playing James Bond.

It was recently suggested that the mutant will appear in the upcoming Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, though this is simply a rumor and has not been officially confirmed. Egerton is -- as mentioned and despite the actor's denial -- one of those actors rumored to take on the role. The X-man has not been seen on cinema screens since 2017's Logan-- the final film starring Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. Jackman played the character since his live-action debut in 2000's X-Men, though the casting choice was a controversial one at the time.

Taron Egerton intrigued by the idea of playing Wolverine in the MCU (Bam! Smack! Pow!)

In a recent interview, famous actor Taron Egerton stated that he would love the idea of taking over the mantle of the famous superhero, Wolverine.

I do feel that Egerton has a great chance at getting this role and I would be totally for it based on the performances he’s delivered in past roles. If Egerton is the one that people want to take over the mantle, then Marvel president Kevin Feige is definitely listening. No matter what direction Marvel decides to go in when they inevitably have to cast Wolverine, the casting choice will be controversial.
