The Blades had seemed on course for an unlikely – and frankly undeserved – three points when Billy Sharp once again nodded in at the Kop end. However, Ryan ...

He showed glimpses of what he is all about and will be all the better for it. Of course, he’s in the first XI because he is good enough. Paul Heckingbottom was forced to shuffle the pack as he handed a full debut to Femi Seriki, while Ben Davies had to slot in at right centre-back.

Sheffield United: Youngster "in a bad place" after "wrong move" will ... (The Star)

Femi Seriki was in a “bad place” following his abortive loan move to Beerschot, Sheffield United manager Paul Heckingbottom admitted, after watching the ...

One of Heckingbottom’s first acts after taking charge was summoning Seriki back to England. After a torrid season plagued by on and off the pitch issues, Greg Vanderidt’s men are spiralling towards relegation from the Jupiler Pro League. “He’ll take a lot from that. “With George not ready, Jayden out and Ozzy not being quite ready to start either, we knew Femi was coming in,” Heckingbottom said. The former Forest midfielder impressed after being summoned from the bench and his greater experience would allow another youngster, Kyron Gordon, to be recalled at centre-half. It wasn’t a good move for him and it was the wrong move. But a 95th minute equaliser from Ryan Yates ensured Forest received some reward for what Cooper later described as a “brilliant” performance.

Steve Cooper makes crucial point about promotion race that ... (Yorkshire Live)

The Nottingham Forest boss has reached the play-offs twice in the last two seasons with Swansea and is pushing for a hat-trick.

"I don't know what's going to happen in the top six but it's going to be a journey to see how it ends up. Paul Heckingbottom, having been on the opposite end of a last-gasp goal in the previous home game to Blackburn, said it was a real 'sickener' and a 'kick in the teeth' to throw away two points from a set-piece at the death. He knows all about what it takes to ensure you are one of those four sides battling it out in the end-of-the-season shoot-out and all those of a Sheffield United persuasion leaving Bramall Lane last night can take comfort from his words of advice following last night's drama.

The former Blades boss returns to Bramall Lane for the first time since his departure 12 months ago.

"It's going to be a great game again, it will be blow for blow and hopefully we can come out on top. "He [Wilder] should get a magnificent reception for 30 seconds and then it's game time and our fans will want to beat him and he's going to want to beat us. The Blades skipper is expecting another tough battle in the race for promotion to the Premier League and predicts both sides will be trading 'blow for blow'.

Paul Heckingbottom makes brutal admission on Sheffield United ... (Football League World)

Sheffield United manager Paul Heckingbottom admits that the late equaliser his side conceded to Nottingham Forest on Friday felt like suffering relegation.

At that stage of the game, Sheffield United may have felt as though they had got the three points in the bag before that sucker punch of the late equaliser. “It’s flat, it hurts, of course it does. Giving his thoughts on conceding that late equaliser, the Sheffield United manager was quoted by the Yorkshire Post as saying: “It’s a sickener, a kick in the teeth.

“You’re more than half-pleased that we managed to get something out of the game at the end. Sheffield United's George Baldock missed Nottingham Forest clash ... (The 72 - We Love the Football League)

Sheffield United defender George Baldock missed out of the squad last night after picking up a knock against Millwall.

Getting Baldock back, a player who was signed for the Blades by the now Boro boss, will be a big boost ahead of that one. Paul Heckingbottom’s side have 12 games left of the season to play as they look to secure themselves a place in the top six. They brought in youngster Femi Seriki to play in Baldock’s position and he was fortunate to have not given away a penalty in the first-half after grabbing hold of Keinan Davis’ shirt.
