But at the end of the day, he is showing the ability to find the back of the net consistently by being a fox in the box while also making those around him looking better. Here he scored a couple of goals and both had a hint of luck involved in them. We're at the business end of the Scottish Cup now and Celtic have joined Hearts, Hibs and Rangers in the last four.
Giakoumakis fluffs his lines and it deflects of his arm and into the path of Maeda who brilliantly slides the ball home from a tight angle. But referee Beaton blows the whistle and it's a near miss for the visitors who are excelling at Tannadice. Great play from the skipper and he opens up his body to curl a left-footed effort from 20 yards out and it lands just wide of the post. But he battles on as Celtic find a foothold in the second half. It was on the edge of the box but other players were nearby. A sore one for the Celtic star, there's a worry it might be his hamstring as he holds the top of his left leg. It was bold and brave from the hosts but Celtic have beendangerous every time they attack. Pinball stuff in the City of Discovery but United are right in this. More good play from Forrest and Rogic down the right and the ball makes its way to Taylor who fires a low, hard effort but it lands straight into the gloves of Siegrist. The 19-year-old whips in a good corner and is demanding the ball - Celtic fans would love to see this guy make it. It was dominant stuff from the visitors and they are ready to see who lies in wait. Dembele slaloms towards the United box after Rogic was wiped out and his deflected effort passes Giajoumakis who gets a toe on it to knock it past Siegrist.

Out wide, I’d love to see Jota follow up his superb display in West Lothian with another on the road tonight. The squad is in excellent shape and with no mid-week fixture, everyone should be fresh. Hart is number one and if he’s available, he plays, that’s it.

‘Bull’ as Ange calls him will be back training with the first team this week ahead of Kyogo – who also had a hamstring injury – and he expected to return after the International Break. Dembele’s involvement with the first signal better news on his contract situation as far as Celtic is concerned and there will be no place for Ben Doak who is now out of the Celtic first team picture ahead of his likely move to Liverpool. All we can do is wish the lad all the best and hope it’s not a case of history repeating itself with a similar outcome to the Charlie Nicholas situation when he left Celtic too quickly. Liel Abada and Giorgos Giakoumakis will be knocking at the door to continue their fine form but again are likely to be listed as substitutes. The landmark win at the Tony Macaroni produced excellent individual displays from the front three. There are no fresh injury concerns for Celtic, who disposed of Livingston at the Tony Macaroni Arena eight days ago. In midfield, Ange went with Bitton, McGregor and Rogic against Livingston and they impressed.
