West Brom player ratings vs Fulham: Bartley & Grant shine as ... (Birmingham Live)

West Bromwich Albion defeated Fulham 1-0 to win for the first time at The Hawthorns under Steve Bruce.

Grant was desperately unlucky not to score, but he atoned for his misses with the perfect pass to assist Robinson. Robinson worked tirelessly alongside Grant in attack and provided the winning goal with a composed finish. He was tidy in possession and carried the ball forward menacingly down the right. He was unfortunate not to register an assist after whipping in a series of inviting first half deliveries. The middle man at the back was solid throughout, heading and clearing everything in sight. Furlong did well to keep Fulham left-back Robinson quiet for most of the game. One on one against Rodak, Robinson coolly slotted the ball underneath the goalkeeper and wheeled away to celebrate his sixth Championship goal of the season. He positioned himself perfectly to intercept a dangerous cross from Robinson with Mitrovic ready to pounce behind him. Johnstone was rooted to the spot, while Mitrovic flung himself at it without success. Alex Mowatt raced into Fulham’s box to collect the loose ball and went down under a challenge from Harrison Reed. All the statistics pointed towards a Fulham win, but Albion dominated the Cottagers from the outset. Fulham left-back Antonee Robinson gifted possession to Grant, who advanced forward and picked out the perfect pass for his strike partner.

Furlong a one-trick pony in 4/10 - West Brom player ratings v Fulham (West Brom News)

West Brom put in a brilliant team display to beat Championship league leaders Fulham 1-0 at The Hawthorns to keep their playoff hopes alive.

No goals for Grant having bagged three in his previous two but he was still a handful for the Fulham defenders. It was a really solid day for the experienced Baggies defender who was in the right place more often than not to head or thump clear any Fulham attacks. The Nigerian international was comfortable enough going back towards his own goal and didn’t make any big errors on the ball to give the visitors a chance.
