Giorgos Giakoumakis lauds Josip Juranovic for giving him his Celtic ... (67 Hail Hail)

Celtic striker Giorgos Giakoumakis has spoken out on the brilliant moment between him and Josip Juranovic after the 4th goal.

After all, his most infamous moment in a Celtic jersey came from the Parkhead penalty spot against Livingston last October. This was the first penalty he’s scored at Celtic Park since then. This was just brilliant stuff from Celtic and it’s something that really showed the togetherness that’s brewing within this group of players. Therefore, it would’ve been easy for him to command the ball yesterday and take it himself. It was a brilliant moment that captured the team spirit of this Celtic side perfectly. However, he refused to allow the opportunity of back-to-back Celtic Park hat-tricks pass Giakoumakis by. Juranovic is the current first-choice Celtic penalty taker.

Celtic reaction: Weirdly missing from top of one table; absence ... (The Scotsman)

Goals are flowing for Celtic again, with 10 in their past three games. But one position remains elusive even with those returns.

The wonderful character, who simply ate and breathed Celtic, is the only man to take the helm for at least four games - as he did as caretaker manager in 1993 - and remain undefeated. Both have been excellent, but in his absence maybe the club followers have recognised that Turnbull still offers different attributes to any other central performers in the Celtic squad. But never so late into a top flight campaign wherein Celtic are excelling - they are now 25 league games unbeaten in a 31-match domestic run with loss - have they been missing from the leading contenders for the golden boot. It seemed all about the goals as Celtic extended their league lead to six points with a 4-0 thumping of Ross County - the club’s biggest home league win since August. Giorgos Giakoumakis bagged his second hat-trick in as many appearances at the club’s home to take his tally to nine goals in only seven games, and 11 since the turn of the year. The ear-piercing roars that greeted David Turnbull’s introduction as a late substitute against County, an appearance which marked his comeback following three months out with a hamstring tear, would have greatly warmed the attacker. In the list of top league scorers, Celtic do not have a player in the leading five.

"But in this league you have to be far more aware off the ball, and that's actually a part I enjoy. The other side of that is, because every other team comes to our ground bringing their own danger and attacking threat, you need to be so switched on in and out of possession. Support's Sydney strategy, chants with no place in Paradise (thecelticstar.com)

The rumour from yesterday that theRangers are now looking for a way out and they could be hit with a penalty for breaching their contract is most welcome on many levels. ‘No morality lessons from you’ as an argument works both ways and when these young supporters are of a Celtic Da’s generation themselves they will be getting reminded about their disgraceful add ons to ‘On the One Road’ – where the original words are so brilliant anyway – and ‘Roamin’ in the Gloamin” a sectarian chant that when sung at Celtic Park tells thousands of fellow supporters that they’re not really welcome in Paradise. Our seats at Celtic Park are close to where The Bhoys base themselves on match days and they are particularly guilty of adding Roamoin’ in the Gloamin’ to their match-day songbook. So the Celtic support’s decision to await developements is spot on. Why? Possibly because the Celtic support is seeing that carnage it it causing across the road. The young Celtic Ultras were all around us, they were friendly, polite and they certainly got behind the team. Given he fronted up on anything and everything that was being thrown at the club last season (when others were hiding behind hastily erected fencing) that said plenty.

Celtic go up the other end and win a penalty! Back to back Celtic Park hat-trick's for the Greek striker. At 4-0, the games really over as a contest but Celtic aren't stopping there. Meanwhile it's a sore one for Ross County but they remain well in the hunt for a top six spot. Joe Hart has had a really easy afternoon and with Celtic four goals up, it would take a dramtic turn around in the final 10 minutes for anything to change. A big win for Celtic in more ways than one as they go six ahead of Rangers at the top, who face Dundee tomorrow. Malky Mackay 's side have proven to be no pushovers as they push for a top six finish so will try not dwell on the walkover in Glasgow. There was a brilliant moment at Celtic Park yesterday from Daizen Maeda which highlighted his desire and commitment more than any other.

And when that came comes around, we’re certainly going to need players with the commitment of Maeda. He didn’t care that the scoreline was 4-0 and it was job done. Instead, he dipped into his tank and looked to try and win a turnover high up the pitch. It’s absolutely stunning commitment to the cause and something which sums up this Celtic team. And that was highlighted in the final few moments as a brilliant clip emerged of his tireless work: It would’ve been so easy for the Japanese international to simply allow County to retrieve the ball.
