The TV star has opened up about the end of their seven year relationship in her brand new autobiography A Bit Of Me: From Basildon to Broadway and Back.
“As far as the woman showing her boobs went, Eddie said he didn’t know why she’d sent the picture,” Denise said. “Her name was Tracy and she had apparently spoken to Eddie over FaceTime and text for a long period – often from our home and sometimes from my flat in Hampstead, which she seemed to think was his.” She was also able to see Eddie had tried to cover his tracks by blocking a woman from her Instagram account, who he was having an affair with. As reported in The Mirror, the Strictly star told fans she knew her relationship was over when she discovered Eddie's infidelity after borrowing his iPad. The Gogglebox star even found a photo of another woman’s breasts, which Eddie had saved as his screensaver. “This was a woman who I didn’t know, who’d clearly had an online connection with my boyfriend.” The TV and radio presenter said straight away she unblocked the woman and was then sent a message which said: "Oh, you’ve unblocked me then." The TV star has opened up about the end of their seven-year relationship in her brand new autobiography A Bit Of Me: From Basildon to Broadway and Back. When we finished recording our debut album, Dreaming of You wasn't on there. Ian Broudie, our producer, said we needed another song and, as soon as he heard ...
I think Dreaming of You is as important to the Coral, the pivot on which their career turned. That’s probably why I was so sure they should include Dreaming of You on the album. The bassline at the start always reminded me of You’re the One That I Want from Grease, but the whole song sounds like people who just love playing. I hear them all in that song. So the key was to record them live, playing as a band. I don’t know who the “you” in the title is. It’s the only song on that first album that doesn’t have some sort of twist. But Alan Wills, who founded our label Deltasonic, thought it could be more like the Specials. When we finished recording our debut album, Dreaming of You wasn’t on there. The trick is to leave them alone and not question it. I think I probably skipped there, and then this line came into my head: “What’s up with my heart when it skips a beat?” I thought: “That’s a good opening line.” So I got to my nan’s and started writing. I went to the studio to meet them. We used to record in Hype Studios in Liverpool, which was owned by Andy Wilson. He called me one day because Shack were there, and they had loved a demo of ours.

The actress, TV presenter, singer and dancer talks to Hannah Stephenson about moving on and turning the negatives in her life into positives.
I just had the persona of being a bit cheeky and a bit mischievous.“And after all these years, after all the hard work I’ve done, I hope I’ve gained a little respect with age. But if I look back at the relationship and at the good bits, I had a lovely time.”Essex-born Van Outen has had her share of ups and downs but she’s learned resilience. She left the show soon after. She never experienced any sexual harassment at work during her early fashion photoshoot days or any other point in her career, she says.“If I’m in a group of men and if they say anything to me, I’ve got quite a quick wit and I think you can get the vibe that I’m a strong person. I just know how to process that rejection and how to move on from it quite quickly, because I’ve had it from such a young age.”The partying days of her 20s, when she hung around with the likes of fellow ‘ladettes’ Jayne Middlemiss, Zoe Ball and Sara Cox, didn’t close doors on her career, she recalls.“I wasn’t too wild to employ. I was never diagnosed with having dyslexia or dyscalculia like my daughter has, but I can clearly see that I have those things which were never identified at school.”A child model at the age of eight, Van Outen later joined the Sylvia Young Theatre School – her peers included EastEnders actress Danniella Westbrook – and paid her way through school with the jobs she got in TV ads and pop videos.“When I went for an audition as a kid, it wasn’t just about getting the job and getting four days out of school, it was more a case of, if I get this job I can stay for another term. I could give a man a run for his money.”She believes things have changed a lot for women in TV in the last 20 years.
