In the 79th minute Mullin hit a shot from just outside the box which was well saved by Johnson before the rebound was hit only just wide of the post. Just six minutes later and Wrexham got their second goal of the night, Mullin took a shot from the edge of the box which Johnson got down low to save well but Ollie Palmer for Wrexham reacted quickest to tap into an empty net to make it two nil. Just after and Wrexham so nearly grabbed their second, Davies again causing problems for the Shaymen as he hit a shot from outside the box which was fumbled by Sam Johnson into the path of another Wrexham man who was denied brilliantly in a recovery save by Johnson only for the linesman flag to go up for offside.
