A Newcastle restaurant had a starring role in the latest episode of Saturday Night Takeaway as Andi Peters arrived in town.
After driving up to the front of the restaurant in a child's ride on car as Chamilionaire's Ridin' sounded out, Andi, who was very taken with the name of the business, went inside to speak to owner Simon who joked: "I was promised Ant and Dec." Scores of people gathered behind crowd control barriers to get in on the action and try and get themselves on TV. The business, which started life in nearby Stack, has become a huge hit with Geordies and has now expanded to have two restaurants - the one in Grey Street that featured on the show and another in Whitley Bay. Sushi Me Rollin's appearance on Takeaway saw the Grey Street branch closed as the restaurant appealed for regulars to come along and join in the fun.
