It's not the huge clash we were hoping for but it's all about keeping the momentum building in Vienna.

It seems Austria have come out intent on giving their departing manager a rousing send-off as Scotland have barely had a sniff of the ball in the opening few minutes. He got under it and sent it high, wide and possibly out of the stadium. Hendry misjudges the flight of the ball and Arnautovic takes full advantage to get in behind and chip one across. Tierney, to Armstrong, to Robertson, back to Tierney, and he picks out McGinn who THUMPS one into the top corner. They're determined to end the Foda era with some semblance of pride and Austria are going for this in the final stages. A draw is probably a fair reflection over the piece and for Scotland, it stretches the unbeaten run to eight games. The striker makes the tackle but luckily for the Hearts keeper, it cannons out for a goal-kick. Gordon takes a little too long on the ball and finds Gregoritsch on him like a flash. But a flurry of substitutions killed the rhythm and Austria took advantage to fight back. And despite a late push from the home team to win it, 2-2 it stayed. Craig Gordon was inspired in the Scotland goal in a first half that saw Austria create marginally more chances. It was a friendly in Vienna but there wasn't much laid back about the opening stages as both teams went at it hammer and tong.

The home side have been on the ball in this half and they've levelled proceedings. Austria pegged their opponents back in the second half and their substitutes made all the difference. But Austria rung the changes and to good effect, with two of their substitutes having a crucial impact. Jack Hendry had headed home from a corner in the first half to give the visitors the lead, before John McGinn capped a stunning flowing move in the second to double their lead.
