Sky Sports pundit David Prutton has predicted Huddersfield Town to come out as 2-1 victors as they make the short trip to Hull City this weekend.

They are still well placed, but teams are queuing up to take their spot in the play-offs. The gap between them and others teams below them has now significantly decreased, making the play-off race in the third tier as close as ever. Last time out, the Tigers got an expected loss to the high-flying Luton Town, but beforehand, beat Coventry City 2-0 away from home in an inspiring performance.

A Harry Toffolo goal late on condemned City to another home defeat.

Tom Eaves: Early booking for a late challenge on Levi Colwill. Seemed to get frustrated and then lost his head for a needless tackle which saw him dismissed. 5/10 5/10 Spent long parts of his facing his own goal and that just is not his game, no lack of effort. A tough night but a task he stuck at well. Matt Ingram: Nothing to do in the opening 20 minutes before making a great stop to deny Holmes. Another one in the second to deny Koroma was superb.

Town got out of the blocks fastest in the second half, with Josh Koroma having a couple of early shots. However, the deadlock was finally broken in the 79th minute by Toffolo! Second half substitute Danel Sinani swung in a great ball which Tom Lees headed goalwards. Some excellent play from Lewis O’Brien, Harry Toffolo, and Josh Koroma saw the ball fall to Duane Holmes in the box, but his half-volley was blocked before it could trouble Matt Ingram.

Hull City 0-1 Huddersfield Town: Match Report (Hull City)

Harry Toffolo's goal ten minutes from time condemned 10-man Hull City to a 0-1 defeat in the Sky Bet Championship.

In injury-time, O’Brien drilled an effort from range wide, before Sayyadmanesh headed narrowly wide from Richie Smallwood’s cross. The forward would later get sent off in first-half injury time after receiving a second bookable offence, before Ollie Turton headed narrowly wide from the resulting free-kick by Sorba Thomas. Ingram initially saved a shot from close range brilliantly after Danel Sinani’s corner delivery caused problems, but the rebound fell to Toffolo who fired home the rebound.

Boro are preparing for a clash at Peterborough this afternoon before hosting the Tigers next weekend with a home tie against Fulham sandwiched in between.

It’s going to be one of nine huge challenges between now and the end of the season." They are what they are and we all have huge challenges in front of us. Whether you are a mid-table team that’s got nothing to play, whether you’re a team fighting to stay in the division or a team fighting to get out of the division,” Wilder told Teesside Live.

What happened in the Hull City dressing room after Tom Eaves' red ... (Hull Daily Mail)

The Tigers were beaten by a goal to nil on Friday night ensuring their relegation worries are not yet over with six games of the season remaining.

City are their own worst enemies at times, though it does come from a good place of trying to do the right thing, unfortunately, the only place you can learn your lessons is out on the pitch and at this level, you’re going to get punished. In the defeat to Luton, a nice passing move started before Alfie Jones picked the wrong pass, gave the ball away and the Hatters were in to make it 1-0. At the other end, Allahyar simply has to score and on another day when perhaps lady luck is shining, that hits the inside of the post and drops into the net to earn a point. In isolation, you look at the game on Friday night and say City actually played well in the first game prior to the moment which turned the game on its head. Speaking to the media on Friday night, the Georgian boss described himself as the not so special one for equalling an unwanted record, and he’ll hope that when Cardiff City arrive on Good Friday, he can at least put that to bed and not go one better than Dolan. Throughout the season, City have barely if at all, been played off the pitch by any team in the Championship which should provide some degree of encouragement. Friday night's agonising 1-0 home defeat to Huddersfield Town was their sixth in a row, and ensured they would remain firmly rooted to the bottom of the home form table with 12 defeats from their 20 games.
