Some nice touches and had the ball in the net in added time, only for the flag to be raised. Ruthless when it comes to taking his chances. James Garner: Neat and tidy in the centre of the pitch. Ryan Yates: ‘If Yatesy scores, we’re in the sea,’ sang the away fans. Made some terrific sprints down the right flank as Forest played some delightful football. Almost caught out with a backward header in the first half, but otherwise solid. Gives the manager a big decision to make for the remaining games as made some decent saves. Forest created some more openings in the second half. Zinckernagel had a penalty appeal waved away early on. Philip Zinckernagel opened the scoring, before a brilliant quick-fire brace from Brennan Johnson put Forest in command.

Nottingham Forest, QPR and Preston North End are all interested in signing Newcastle United's Elliot Anderson on loan, it has been claimed.

Anderson has been a huge hit with Joey Barton’s side and is playing a key role in the Gas’ fight for promotion this season. However, after such a strong spell in League Two with Bristol Rovers, he may yet head out on loan again, with a number of Championship sides interested. The youngster has managed three goals and three assists in 15 games for the Gas, and Magpies’ boss Eddie Howe recently stated that he anticipates Championship interest in the playmaker.

3 Nottingham Forest players who impressed in the 4-1 win v Blackpool (The 72 - We Love the Football League)

Nottingham Forest sit poised and positioned for a push at the Championship play-offs. Here's how three Forest men performed against Blackpool.

The second half had a lot to live up to after such a dominant first-half display from Nottingham Forest. It was a half of football where Blackpool needed to claw themselves back into the game. 27-year-old Zinckernagel scored the fifth goal of what is looking like a productive loan deal from Premier League strugglers Watford. It was enough to secure a high rating but his game was more than just that goal. Indeed, it was Forest who took the lead through Philip Zinckernagel (11′) – his shot looping over Tangerines stopper Daniel Grimshaw after hitting a defender’s boot.

Preston North End are interested in signing Newcastle United youngster Elliot Anderson this summer, but face a battle with Nottingham Forest.

A quick decision over Anderson is unlikely, and Preston may need to be patient if they want the Newcastle talent to arrive this summer. More loans like Cameron Archer and Sepp van den Berg may be needed with Anderson now a potential signing. That’s something Lowe may have to use in the transfer window, with a cash injection from a takeover now looking very unlikely.

Nottingham Forest, Preston North End and QPR have all been credited with an interest in Newcastle United attacker Elliot Anderson, as per a report from The…

Anderson is very highly rated by Newcastle, meaning it could be very difficult for the clubs chasing his services to land a permanent deal, however, he appears to be someone who will be ready for the rigours of a temporary stint in the Championship next season. There is no surprise to see interest in the young winger and it would have been interesting to see how the 19-year-old fared up in the Championship if Luton would have signed him in January. Anderson seems to be one of the brightest prospects in the EFL at the moment, proving to be a level above in League Two already.
