Coventry City player ratings vs Fulham: Sky Blues stun champions ... (Coventry Live)

The Sky Blues beat league leaders Fulham in their own back yard in a sensational afternoon in West London.

Put the icing on the cake with a lovely stoppage time tap-in to secure the points. Had an early chance for City from a free-kick and defended pretty solidly in the first 45. Led by example with the captain’s armband, making two early clearances in a confident start from the Sky Blues and got his head on the end of an early free-kick, albeit sending it over the bar. Almost made it 3-0 when he had two efforts blocked, one on the line, from a corner. Had the beating of Tosin Adarabioyo every time and led the line brilliantly. Saved brilliantly twice to deny Williams in the second half before deny Muniz an equaliser five minutes from the end in a man of the match display. Sent another header from a corner over the bar as City were a real threat from set-pieces. Scored with a glancing header from a Hamer corner and was excellent defensively in a terrific display from City. Intercepted brilliantly and was a class act throughout. The Cottagers created chance after chance in a difficult second half when Moore pulled off more heroics to maintain City’s two-goal cushion past the hour mark. Robins’s men went into the break with their tails up, knowing full well they had a tough second 45 to come. Sadly, however, the centre-back couldn’t direct it past goalkeeper Marek Rodak who dived to collect his tamely hit shot comfortably.

Fulham 1-3 Coventry: Marco Silva's league leaders suffer defeat ... (Daily Mail)

ADAM SHERGOLD: Mark Robins brought his team to Craven Cottage and told them to do something most visitors don't think - or dare - to do.

They didn't give them a moment's peace in midfield and when the hosts started to pepper their goal after half-time, they dropped back, dug in and remained intact. At the other end, Carvalho headed wide from Harry Wilson's cross. Fulham have too much in attack not to respond. Callum O'Hare and Gustavo Hamer also enjoyed superb games, the former wrapping it up deep into stoppage time. Six points and seven goals scored against the champions-elect in two matches, just one conceded. Hamer pinched the ball in midfield and ran into the box before forcing Rodak into a low save. Rodak looked to have it covered but somehow allowed the ball to bobble over him and in. There appeared little on when the Swede collected the ball on the edge of the Fulham box but he worked space to shoot from 20 yards. But Coventry were undoubtedly the brighter team and they left the Cottage stunned with two goals in the space of four minutes. It's always one of football's great curiosities. Fulham suffered a shock home defeat in the Championship against a resilient Coventry side Fulham have led the Championship since mid-January and turned the title race into a procession.

Fulham set to seal £7.7m transfer agreement (Football League World)

Championship side Fulham have managed to negotiate a £7.7m fee with Premier League outfit for the services of Fabio Carvalho in the summer, as per a report ...

Generating £5m in revenue up front may not be great for a player of the 19-year-old’s potential – but they won’t face the agony of battling for compensation in the summer and there’s the potential to make more money from him in the future with these add-ons. From the Cottagers’ point of view, there’s little point in having him in the English capital if he isn’t committed to the cause and considering they probably offered him generous terms to stay put, they may not have any regrets in terms of not being able to tie him down to fresh terms. In fairness, he may not even make the grade at Anfield and may be sold on because of this, giving the Cottagers a decent windfall if they did manage to insert a sell-on clause with the Reds unlikely to sell him on the cheap.

Coventry stun runaway Championship leaders Fulham (BT Sport)

Michael Rose, Viktor Gyokeres and Callum O'Hare were on target for the Sky Blues.

Coventry were not finished as an attacking force and Maatsen’s shot was deflected over the bar by Williams, but it was Fulham who scored the third goal after 82 minutes. But he was helpless as Neeskens Kebano hit the crossbar with a flying volley from a cross by Neco Williams. But goals from Michael Rose and Viktor Gyokeres put Coventry 2-0 ahead at the break and, despite Fulham substitute Bobby Decordova-Reid pulling one back with eight minutes to go, Callum O’Hare netted a third in added time.

Fulham's blunders punished in surprise home defeat by Coventry (West London Sport)

Premier League-bound Fulham suffered a surprise defeat at Craven Cottage, where awful errors by Marek Rodak and Tim Ream were punished.

And Coventry sealed their win when Hamer capitalised on Ream’s stumble by laying the ball across for O’Hare to score with a simple tap-in. De Cordova-Reid laid the ball to his left to Josh Onomah and collected the return pass from his fellow substitute before shooting into the bottom corner. Bobby De Cordova-Reid pulled a goal back late on, but Ream stepping on the ball led to Callum O’Hare adding a third for the Sky Blues in stoppage time.

Coventry City's Fulham double showed Mark Robins' side have ... (Coventry Live)

Coventry City's 4-1 thrashing of Fulham back in October will no doubt go down as one of the highlights, if not the highlight, for most Sky Blues fans when ...

Fulham have shown no mercy to many sides this season, putting seven past Blackburn and Reading, and hitting Birmingham and Bristol City for six to show the gulf in quality between the haves and the have nots – with Marco Silva’s men bouncing back to the Premier League courtesy of a large helping hand from their relegation parachute payments. That humiliation of the Cottagers will have left a sour taste and there was a clear sense of revenge in the air when the two teams came together for the return fixture at Craven Cottage, meeting for the first time at the old venue in the league for 54 years and four days, to be exact. The identical scoreline and putting to the sword of Sheffield United will be a close second – Mark Robins’s men coming from behind on both occasions against fallen Premier League sides and completely playing them off the park in as one sided and exhilarating second halves of football you are likely to see.

This is according to reporter Jones, who said: “I was told they (West Ham) are keeping an eye on him. However, that doesn’t mean they don’t need more depth.

The Sky Blues pulled off a remarkable 3-1 win at Craven Cottage to earn admirers of their quality and endeavour against Premier League-bound Fulham.

Coventry took the lead from a corner as Rose leaped highest to divert the ball past Marek Rodak in the Fulham net. Coventry City seized on Fulham’s defensive errors and nullified Aleksandar Mitrovic, while the goalkeeper Marek Rodak was shaky throughout. Fulham carved out their best chance of the first half when Neeskens Kebano met Neco Williams’ cross on the volley, crashing his shot against the crossbar. Substitute Bobby Decordova-Reid’s neat, left-foot finish set up a grandstand end to the game after the hosts had squandered a number of chances, with Rodrigo Muniz’s deflected effort almost finding its way in to equalise.
