Now the latest release to hit screens is the Yash starrer KGF – Chapter 2. But will the film which comes with immense anticipation, expectations and hype gain ...
In fact, in certain locations KGF 2 features shows starting as early as 6 AM. Interestingly, a few locations have featured a houseful notice for these shows, which even today is a rare phenomenon. In fact, KGF – Chapter 2 has rewritten records collecting Rs. 31 crores nett with advance ticket sales for the opening day. Reports suggest that KGF – Chapter 2 has taken off on a thunderous note with occupancy over morning shows pegged at a steady 80% across the country.
KGF Chapter 2 is far better than KGF 1 writing-wise, and the ideation is way better too.
Yash is all swag and sophistication, look-wise, and the desi English quirk stays with him in this film too. Yes, Rocky and his mannerisms and the swish of his hair will become meme magic. Now, one can only wait for Chapter 3 to find out what happened in the inky blue depth of the Indian Ocean speckled with gold bars. What I liked most about KGF2 is that there is no happily ever after, both in the personal and professional space. This is one director we all need to watch out for — he’s just on his third film and already has some signature motifs. This is that kind of film — that reminds you why you want the big screen, reminds you why popcorn is the perfect accompaniment for a good commercial flick. Even with Ramika, you don’t really know what drives her — love for the country or the power high of being a dictator? Art director Shivakumar J achieves something wonderful with the film — he suspends it in a semi-mythical zone, yet leaves it rooted too. The rest of the film is a series of set pieces where Rocky keeps tackling foes, including the country’s prime minister Ramika Sen (Raveena Tandon looking majestic and stern all the time). Rocky is still guided by his mother Shantamma’s (Archana Jois) words. The star of the film continues to be the monotone-filled violent world of Narachi, and its happenings. He’s your benevolent dictator, who removes people from the shackles of bonded labour and keeps work going in the gold mines. I can’t say the same about KGF2 nearly four years later — I hardly heard a single dialogue amid the hooting audience and relied on the subtitles.
KGF Chapter 2 review: KGF 2 has hit theatres across India. KGF 2 movie cast: Yash, Sanjay Dutt, Prakash Raj, Srinidhi Shetty, Raveena Tandon, Anant Nag, ...
In her tasteful saris, and that trademark white streak in the hair, Raveena Tandon leaves a little more impact: she is also responsible for an act which has ensured the erasure of the wild and valorous deeds of Rocky from our history books. The film swings haphazardly between the past, which shows us Rocky’s devotion towards his mother (Archana Jois), and the present, in which he swings between being a saviour and the guy who cracks the whip and roars at the workers to never stop working. His unruly mane is still the same, but this time around Rocky appears in a series of sharp suits, standing out against the thousands of extras dressed in mud-brown humble clothes.
The first instalment sets the tone by showcasing Rocky's stellar rise to the top and KGF: 2 begins right where things were left off, albeit with the stakes ...
Bhuvan Gowda, the cinematographer, creates his own visual palette and doesn’t seem too bogged down by the period setting of the story – each frame, each swipe of the camera is beautiful and admirable. The main star of the film, however, is the exceptional synergy between Prashanth Neel and his team. Sanjay Dutt is certainly a striking figure on the screen in his Vikings avatar and is his imposing best in the breath-taking action sequences. As he expands the mining operations of KGF, he turns it into his hidden fortress and becomes a demigod in the eyes of the people, while Adheera’s menacing presence looms larger than ever. Prashanth Neel, whose story unfurled in a slow-yet-intriguing manner in KGF: 1, makes no bones about his intent with the sequel and cranks up the energy right from the word go. Vijayendra Ingalgi (Prakash Raj), son of the former journalist and author of the infamous book El-Dorado, takes over as the narrator of KGF: 2 and soon sets the context.

KGF Chapter 2 review: This Yash-starrer is an immersive film that is worth the hype and one of the finest sequels to have come out in a long time.
As the story unfolds, it brings in a lot many characters without interrupting the pace of the story or screenplay. In fact, there’s quite an irony in the character sketch she’s given. One of the finest sequels to have come out in a long time, KGF 2 takes off right from where the first part ended. Rocking Star Yash returns to screen as the raw and ruthless hero. As Anand Ingalagi (Anant Nag), the author of El Doradao is hospitalised and can no longer narrate the story of KGF (Kolar Gold Fields) and rise of Rocky, his son Vijayendra Ingalagi (Prakash Raj) takes over. It was only recently that I sat down to watch KGF part 1 and in all honesty, I didn’t understand most of it.
Mumbai: As Sanjay Dutt-starrer 'KGF: Chapter 2' hit theatres on Thursday, his wife Maanayata Dutt shared a special message for people, especially for.
Describing Sanjay as a “hero”, Maanayata added, “Sanju shot this film during the most vulnerable phase of his life… Cool, powerful, spirited and a fighter to the very end! “The film has been a special journey for us in more ways than one.
"KGF Chapter 2" follows Rocky, who not only demands retributive justice, but wants to fulfill the promise he gave to his mother.
The man, even if for a moment, had all the gold in the world and had fulfilled the promise that he had given to his mother. He had a purpose behind calling the naval forces of three nations. He had sent a fax to the Indian, Indonesian, and American forces himself. He was the one leaking information to Adheera. Rocky, in exchange for the huge amount of money and gold, had taken Kalashnikovs and other deadly ammunitions from Inayath Khalil. He had the firepower, and he initiated an onslaught on Adheera’s army. There was an insider who was leaking information to the enemy. But Rocky was in no mood to meddle with the insignificant pieces of the chessboard. Rocky recovered, and he had a strategy in mind. Inayath Khalil, a smuggler from the UAE, had always wanted to enter Kolar Gold Fields, and with Sooryavardhan on his deathbed, he knew he had a genuine chance. Rocky came out of the water like a predator and, with his sword, killed Garuda. He had also killed Virat earlier, who was the younger brother of Gaurda. Rocky always wanted to rule Bombay. But the day Andrews promised to give him the city as a gift, if he was able to kill Garuda, there was a seed of greed that was sown inside him. He remembered when his mother had to struggle every day so that he could stay alive.
