The Scottish football giants have the mission of overturning a 1-0 deficit at home. But Sporting Braga, 2011 Europa League finalists, have demonstrated of ...

The odds for both teams to score and for over 2.5 goals reflect the expectation of a high-scoring game. Rangers will be going into this game without Alfredo Morelos, who is expected to miss the rest of the season after undergoing surgery for a thigh problem. Manager Carlos Carvalhal traveled 24 players for the match and the list includes French teenage midfielder Jean-Baptiste Gorby, who made his injury return in a 1-0 win at Vizela on Sunday. The Scottish giants will have to attack, knowing the minimum objective must be a one-goal win in order to take the series to extra time. The Portuguese side, in fourth place in the domestic league behind the big three, has made a habit of scoring early in games. That's because Braga won the first leg at home 1-0 with a goal from Abel Ruiz towards the end of the first half.

Rangers look to overturn a first-leg deficit as they take on Braga in the quarter-finals of the Europa League.

1 min: GOAL - Rangers 1-0 Braga (Tavernier) It's an incredible start for Rangers as James Tavernier scores after just 70 seconds to put Rangers ahead on the night and make it 1-1 on aggregate. 95 mins: Braga appear much more assured now, but the crowd is still urging Rangers forward as they look to make it through. 83 mins: GOAL - Rangers 2-1 Braga (Carmo) Hugely frustrating for Rangers as Braga pull level on aggregate with a header from Carmo following a corner. Then Ramsey plays in a cross but Kent's header lacks conviction. 56 mins: Bassey has played some impressive long balls for Rangers so far tonight. Great spirit from Braga with ten men. Fashion Sakala and Scott Arfield are on for Rangers. Braga send on Jean-Baptiste Gorby. Goldson misses a late header after a cross from Kent. The other tie will see West Ham play Eintracht Frankfurt. That was until the closing stages when, despite their numerical disadvantage, Braga took the game to extra time through David Carmo's header. 2H (ET) 1H (ET)

Rangers reach semis with extra-time win over Braga (BBC Sport)

Rangers are into the Europa League semi-final after Kemar Roofe's extra-time winner settled a pulsating tie with Braga, who finished with nine men.

Fashion Sakala (Rangers) right footed shot from the right side of the box is blocked. Fashion Sakala (Rangers) left footed shot from the left side of the box is blocked. Owing to their second red card in extra-time, Braga became the first side to have two players sent off in UEFA Europa League knockout stage match since Rangers in the Last 16 last season against Slavia Prague. "The fans demand it so we have to produce it. To reach the last four in Europe is a major achievement for everyone. That took the wind out of Rangers' sails. Roofe's joy was short lived again when he broke free of the defence and chipped into the net, but was adjudged marginally offside. Aribo sliced side when perhaps a pass to Kent was the better option. They had turned the tie in their favour and now had a man advantage. Roofe got on to a long ball and ahead of defender Tormena, who bundled into the striker's back. The pressure was immense. This time the celebrations were cut short after a VAR check harshly penalised Barisic for handball in the build-up, but it didn't dampen Rangers' intensity as they continued to pour forward.

Rangers 3-1 Braga (3-2 agg, aet): Europa League quarter-final – as ... (The Guardian)

Kemar Roofe scored the winner as Rangers finally overcame a Braga side who finished with nine men to reach their first European semi-final since 2008.

78 min Ramsey slaloms past two players on the edge of the D and is taken down. He stopped Ramsey’s shot on the line and the momentum of both players led to a collision, Ramsey’s knee against Matheus’s head. But at the moment, it counts for nowt and the tie is going to extra-time. I have no idea how this has happened, but we’re going to have extra-time at Ibrox. The Rangers players should be in the shower, celebrating their first European semi-final since 2008. Sakala’s shot deflected off a defender and was saved by Matheus. The ball ran to Arfield, six yards out, and he somehow launched it onto the top of the crossbar! 95 min Ten-man Braga are dominating possession at the moment. 96 min Matheus is flattened again, this time by Aribo, but it was a legitimate challenge for a 45/55 ball. Then he got right in the referee’s face and was given a second yellow card! Kamara threaded a square pass into Aribo, who hammered a low cross on the turn into the six-yard box. The atmosphere tonight was sensational, and the good news for Rangers is that they will be at home in the second leg of their semi-final against RB Leipzig. Although I also thought Rangers should have had a free kick instead of the corner Braga scored from so maybe it has all evened out.” James Tavernier scored twice in the first half, only for David Carmo’s late header to take a one-sided game to extra-time.

Rangers vs Braga – LIVE updates (Scottish Daily Record)

It's Thursday night in Glasgow and that means more Europa League action is on the way. But this time Giovanni van Bronckhorst and Rangers have it all to do ...

Soooo close for Rangers as Aaron Ramsey bundles he ball into the net but the referee's whistle goes after it's deemed the Welshman had fouled the Braga keeper in the process. Kemar Roofe sees yellow for taking out Matheus in the Braga goal. A goal from Braga makes it 2-1 on the night but more importanlty 2-2 on aggregate as extra time is looking likely at Ibrox. The visitors have hardly been in this second leg tie but they are looking the most likely for a winner here. The visitors have started the first half of extra time the more dominant of the sides. FIVE minutes have been added on at Ibrox with the visitors on the front foot. The Light Blues have had a huge 23 shots, but have only managed to get four of them on target. Scott Arfield is on for current matchwinner Kemar Roofe on at the start of the second half of extra time. Kemar Roofe gives Rangers the advantage in extra time. Kemar Roofe has already been booked and the Braga bench are trying to get the Jamaican international sent off but it's Carlos Carvalhal who see's yellow for waving an imaginary card at the match referee. Kenny Miller is full of praise for goal scorer Kemar Roofe as Ibrox waits patient for the second period of extra time. Scott Wright tries to pick out Kemar Roofe in the box but his pass is underhit and Andre Castro can clear.
