Each Kardashian will get more screen time and the show is said to be more authentic rather than sticking to a script. You’ll need a Disney Plus subscription. While Keeping Up with The Kardashians streamed on American channel E! the new series will be streamed on Disney Plus and Hulu, meaning the tone of the show will be different too.

The Kardashians review: Kim and co's reality TV comeback rewrites ... (The Independent)

The move from E! to Disney+ has changed the Kardashian-Jenner's television presence for the better.

Kim is hosting a family lunch to celebrate the first day of filming, and guests arrive one by one to offer their reactions to the new show. Gone are sillier subplots: the days of E! producers filling time with Khloé and Scott pulling pranks on momager Kris are no more. Khloe is working through relationship problems with her on-again-off-again boyfriend Tristan Thompson. Kim is rallying her lawyers to fight against the threat of her sex tape resurfacing. But, with apparently more control over what these cameras get to see, everyone is excited for the opportunity to showcase new angles to their personal and professional lives. The first episode opens with a reintroduction to the family, though there is no sign of youngest Kardashian sibling Rob, who began to only appear occasionally in Keeping Up midway through its run. Whereas E! sought to please their viewership with heightened drama rather than true – if slightly crafted – reality, Disney+ are open to showcasing the women’s day-to-day existences: business meetings, carpooling, house cleaning, family dinners.

'The Kardashians' return to reality TV — their best publicity tool (NBC News)

Less than a year after they ended their hit E! series, the Kardashian-Jenner family are back to sell the world their best product of all: their lives.

“I see the show as both a promotional arm but also the sort of unvarnished glimpse,” Kennedy said. “There’s these real-world moments where it feels like, ‘oh, this is, you know, this is a good show,’ right?” Kennedy said. Moving their lives to a streaming platform most likely demands a lesser time commitment than nearly two dozen episodes a season while boosting the production value and offering tighter storytelling. “It’s a perfect cash cow, to get all these people to come on board and to be shown,” Deraney said. But not every reality show goes on for 20 seasons just to revive months later. But Khloe, Kourtney and Kim Kardashian came together during season 20 and decided not to renew their contracts for the show.

'The Kardashians' Showrunner Teases How Hulu Series Will ... (Variety)

'The Kardashians' showrunner Danielle King reveals what to expect on the famous family's new Hulu series.

It was a lot of texting, and it was just a lot of covert activity. Kourtney did not know that her entire family was there, so when she came up to the suite where the family was, it was a whole family affair. How will that personal matter be dealt with on the show? They’re really good about not censoring themselves, and always looking at it as a producer, not as a person who is in the show. In a world where there can be so much ugliness, in terms of people expressing hate on the internet or just the judgment that is on their lives, they have an amazing ability to rise above it and it’s refreshing. Something I knew, in a peripheral way, is how much backlash the family can get from the press and that there are people that bully, but the family has an incredible resilience. Reading about it in the news is one thing, but then you tune in, it’s like, “Oh, that’s what Kim was thinking, that’s what Khloé was thinking.” Now, I’m getting what really happened. Does the paparazzi get in the way of production? And then, when you find out that it is the Kardashians, then you look at it a bit differently.” Why do you think there is this intense interest to tune into their lives, even though the ending of the story has essentially already been given away? “I will get a text or a call from one of the family members and they’ll say, ‘Hey, this is going on. “That’s the approach that we wanted to have.”

The Kardashians are back! But did they ever really go away? (The Guardian)

(The family now means: Kris, Kourtney, Kim and Khloé Kardashian, and Kendall and Kylie Jenner, as well as their numerous children and current or ex romantic ...

The richest part of the new Hulu show is witnessing snippets of their now gravitational celebrity orbit, however mediated – the familiarity with which famous performers from James Corden to Amy Schumer enter and exit the screen. All of this buoys and buffets the show, which in and of itself is as bland as their monochrome ath-leisure suits and glossy nude lips. Of course the “for better or for worse” paeans to KUWTK’s end have become accessories to the start of something new: The Kardashians, the family’s new reality show on Hulu, born from a deal worth an estimated $100m. (The family now means: Kris, Kourtney, Kim and Khloé Kardashian, and Kendall and Kylie Jenner, as well as their numerous children and current or ex romantic partners. Since KUTWK premiered in 2007, the Kardashians have become the avatars and drivers of American culture on innumerable fronts, among them: impossible beauty standards, the aesthetic of an entire dominant platform (Instagram), the democratized accessibility of fame, image manipulation (how many times have they denied blatant photo-shopping and cosmetic alterations?), the unreality of reality TV, the relentless drive to turn everything into profit, the currency of undefeated shamelessness. Rob Kardashian and Caitlyn Jenner are not involved.) The latest cog in the Kardashian-Jenner mega-corporation is a sleeker, cannier version of the original rooted in the same propagandistic DNA though, in the only two 45-minute episodes made available to critics, said narrative spinning seems half-heartedly applied. The eulogizing began as soon as the Kardashian-Jenner family announced the end of their flagship reality show, Keeping Up with the Kardashians (KUWTK), after 14 years in 2020.

We see Kourtney's relationship with Travis Barker blossom, Kim navigate family life while separated from Kanye West, and Khloé keep Tristan Thompson at a ...

We even see glimpses of Barker planning his October proposal to the eldest Kardashian sister. In the first two episodes, Khloe still seems to be debating what role Tristan Thompson should play in her life. When the two aren't glued at the hip, they're planning out how to gradually blend their families together. While Kylie was famously tight-lipped about her first pregnancy with daughter Stormi (whom she shares with rapper Travis Scott), The Kardashians sees the youngest sister proudly show off her second baby bump while at home and at work, with her family fawning over her at every moment. The series has been described as an "all-access pass" into the lives of the Kardashians, as well as a chance "to reveal the truth behind the headlines," but thus far the first two episodes mostly show us more of what we already know. But because the family is constantly in the headlines, it doesn't really feel as if we're witnessing anything new.
