Huddersfield Town might need to do something they haven't ... (Yorkshire Live)

Huddersfield Town secured their place in this season's Championship play-off places with a 2-1 victory over Barnsley on Friday night.

With the faint hope of automatic promotion still possible Huddersfield know they are likely to need a maximum return from their last two league game. With two games of the season remaining, Town were desperate to avoid becoming the second worst Premier League side in history as they sat on just 14 points after 36 matches. The Terriers were beaten 2-0 by Birmingham City at St Andrews, before concluding the league campaign with a 3-0 home defeat to Cardiff City. Although Town have now already confirmed their spot in the top six, they will be keen to avoid losing any momentum in the final two games of the season heading into their two-legged semi-final. On an iconic night at Stamford Bridge, Town picked up a gutsy point to mathematically secure their top-flight status against the odds. Town sat three points ahead of the relegation zone and faced West Bromwich Albion at the John Smith’s Stadium, who themselves were looking to take a huge step towards automatic promotion.
