Queens Park Rangers vs Sheffield United LIVE (Yorkshire Live)

The Blades travel to west London looking to take another huge step closer to securing a play-off position.

At this stage of the season and with only two games to go, Sharp's injury is a major blow. They will kick off tonight's match two points clear of seventh-placed Middlesbrough but if they can take all three points it would see the gap extended to five. The Blades midfielder is looking to thread Sander Berge through on goal and he finds a gap in the home defence but his pass has too much on it and although the Norwegian is clean through the ball runs away from him and through to the keeper

Queens Park Rangers defender Yoann Barbet is being tracked by multiple Championship clubs ahead of the summer transfer window, according to West London ...

However it appears that some have other ideas and if Barbet ends up at another Championship club this summer then it could be a loss that QPR regret. Next to Rob Dickie and Jimmy Dunne, Barbet is part of a trio that could potentially be the back-line at the club for years to come. It has been reported that Barbet is happy to stay at the club, but there is no indication that he will be offered a new deal in the coming weeks as the season comes to its conclusion.

Personally, I would answer ‘yes’ to the first question and ‘no’ to the second. And if Baldock really hasn’t trained after being treated for a hamstring issue, then picking him would be a huge risk. And does Baldock, if he is available for selection, replace Ben Osborn at wing-back?

QPR's season has petered out into the mid-table positions, and it's seen the club confirm the summer departure of manager Mark Warburton.

He’s chipped in with the important goal here and there, scoring four across the league season. Dykes came good in the second half of last season and began this season strongly too, for both club and country. But the fans will be optimistic, or rather hopeful that the 2022/23 season can be their season.

United scored twice in the second half to turn the match on its head and secure a well deserved and crucial victory.

Had United's best chance in the first half with an effort comfortably saved and was unlucky not to find the net when his header came back off the post. Moved into all the areas that the QPR defenders did not want to go and drove United forward. Fancied this one right from the off and was busy, energetic and forever probing, getting on the ball. But going forward he picked up some really good positions on the overlap and was a great outlet. Pushing on and getting up inside the area. Was unlucky with a header soon after the interval that was tipped wide at full stretch by Mahoney but the keeper could do nothing to stop the bullet header that put United in front.

QPR 1 Sheffield United 3: Blades throw down gauntlet to play-off rivals (Yorkshire Post)

There are lots of ways to win a football match. For Sheffield United last night it was the half-time team-talk that did it.

Austin ran in and got above Basham to head in the game’s first effort on target. Robinson added a second and the Blades withstood a frantic finale which saw Jimmy Dunne hit the crossbar. Within a minute, Gibbs-White forced the ball goalwards at a corner, only to see it cleared. Sander Berge’s shot was blocked but Iliman Ndiaye pounced for his third goal in four games. The Blades were the better side in possession but dropped their guard for a few seconds and were punished. “We weren’t ruthless and didn’t have enough efforts on goal and that killer instinct.”

As with all matches, there has been dialogue between the club and the police, local authority and the EFL to ensure it is a safe environment at Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium and any pitch incursion will prevent the lap of appreciation taking place.
