Celtic vs Hearts - LIVE updates (Scottish Daily Record)

Ange Postecoglou's men are edging closer to the title but Robbie Neilson will be targeting a shock result in Glasgow.

However, Callum McGregor is there to block the cross. This time it cannons back off the post. He takes the touch, before narrowly firing wide of Gordon's right-hand post. It looks like it's going to trickle into the net for an own goal, but Moore is back and scrambles the ball off the line. Boyce holds the ball up well in the corner and wins the foul off of Starfelt. However, Starfelt is first to the ball and it's headed out of the six yard box. Kingsley is tripped on the edge of the box, and walks over to take the set piece from the left flank. Angeballs Amazing job Ange Postecoglou has done at Celtic. Think about it…a 25 point deficit last season and a huge squad overhaul required. Yes Rangers have choked this season but nevertheless Ange has sent them packing. Kingsley's ball almost finds Boyce at the back post, but O'Riley is there to head the ball away at the last second. Jota has the ball in the net and wheels away. The Hearts striker looks to pile the pressure on in the closing stages.

The win all but secures the Scottish Premiership for Ange Postecoglou's side, as the Hoops now sit nine points ahead of Rangers. Watch the world's best ...

The third goal that Celtic so desperately craved arrived with almost 20 minutes left to play, as Taylor floated a cross in from the left and found an unmarked Matt O’Riley at the far post who cushioned the ball on his left foot before passing the ball into the back of the net. He headed the ball back across the face of goal and Hoops striker Kyogo Furuhashi got his head to it, nodding the ball over the line to gift Celtic the lead. Hoops midfielder David Turnbull won the ball back deep in his own half before passing the ball to Jota who was loitering near the halfway line in the middle of the pitch.

The Gers haven't lost consecutive top-flight matches at Ibrox since March 2018 under Graeme Murty, a run which featured a home defeat to Celtic. Before these three wins, Hibs had only won three of their previous 23 home league matches against the Dons (D10 L10). Hibs are the only side in the division yet to reach double figures for goals this calendar year. - Dundee have conceded the most goals in the Scottish Premiership this season (59) and have faced the most shots on target (190) in the division. - Rangers full-back James Tavernier has created the most chances (105), played the most passes into the box (412) and has the most assists (12) in the Scottish Premiership this season, while he is the only player to be in double figures for expected assists (10.8). - Rangers have won each of their last six home games against Dundee United in the Scottish top-flight since a 2-3 defeat in April 2011. - Dundee have won four of their last six Scottish Premiership away games at St. Mirren (L2), with all six games in this run decided by just a single goal. - St. Mirren have only lost one of their last seven Scottish Premiership matches against Dundee (W4 D2), although that was their last such home game against them in October (0-1). - St. Johnstone have only scored eight away goals in the Scottish Premiership this season, the fewest of any side, with the Saints also managing the fewest shots on target of any side on their travels (43). - Only Dundee (10) have won fewer away Scottish Premiership points this season than Aberdeen (11), with the Dons only winning two of their 17 on the road in 2021-22 (D5 L10). - Livingston have won their last two Scottish Premiership matches, last winning three in a row in a run of six consecutive wins in December 2020 and January 2021. - Since Hibernian's promotion in 2018, only Rangers (10) have won more league games against them than Aberdeen (eight), while against no side have the Dons won more league fixtures against in this time (level with Livingston).

ALL three Sky Sports pundits this afternoon claimed Celtic's equaliser against Hearts shouldn't have counted as they offered a unanimous verdict…

"The other one is a foul for me. But for me, listen it is 80 yards from goal. "Of course Robbie Neilson will be disappointed with the decision because it is a foul looking back at it but I think overall Celtic have deserved their lead."

Devastating options for big title push; Celtic Predicted XI vs Hearts (67 Hail Hail)

All of us are hoping today's early kick-off against Hearts at Celtic Park is another significant step towards the Scottish Premiership title.

The reality is that Postecoglou has devastating options to get the job done today. The manager has put his faith in him so far and it’s doubtful that will change. The reality is that it doesn’t really matter what the Ibrox side do now.
