Rangers are back in action on Sunday with the cheers of their epic Europa League semi-final win over RB Leipzig still echoing around Ibrox.

Rangers won at Ibrox in August to avenge their 1-0 defeat at Tannadice earlier in the season – the match which halted their unbeaten league run stretching back to March 2020. Therefore anything other than a home win this afternoon will crown new Premiership champions. Tam Courts’ side have beaten Rangers already this season as well as one loss and a draw in the cinch Premiership and head to Ibrox on the back of mixed form – a win over Motherwell last week followed two draws and a win.

Rangers vs Dundee United - LIVE updates (Scottish Daily Record)

It's back to domestic business at Ibrox as the home side return after their midweek Europa League heroics against the Euro-chasing visitors.

He is growing in stature and is feeling the love. It took him a bit of time to adapt but the last few months he's come into his own. We want to play with the same energy and we will need to be at 100%. The Swiss stopper spreads his body and puts in the block needed to stop a certain goal. The Tangerines forward does well to fashion a chance to win his side a corner. He cuts down the left wing but Neilson is across well to put in a slide tackle and prevent danger. They play nice one touch passes but it can't put the latter in for a chance. The ball breaks to Sakala and again he is stopped by Siegrist in the Dundee United goal. A long ball goes towards Tavernier but he's unable to get on the end of it. Siegrist gets close to it but the Rangers captain's strike is so far in the corner he can't reach it. A proud moment for those in the Ibrox academy. And for the visitors there is plenty riding on it as Tam Courts looks to continue an impressive debut season in the dug-out and secure European football for Dundee United next season.

Rangers confirmed starting XI for visit of Dundee Utd (Ibrox News)

Rangers have confirmed their starting XI for the Scottish Premiership visit of Dundee United to Ibrox, in their first game back after Europa League drama.

The Dundee United visit will inevitably suffer in comparison to the raucous scenes at Ibrox in midweek, and this side has shown it has a fallibility to fall flat after the emotional European exertions. The final game of the league season against Hearts will be a dress rehearsal for the cup final, so both sides are likely to be playing their cards close to their chests on that one. Rangers 2-0 Dundee United: Ibrox victory delays Celtic's title ... (Sky Sports)

Match report as Rangers beat Dundee United 2-0 at Ibrox: James Tavernier opened the scoring from the penalty spot with Amad Diallo doubling their lead; ...

United still remained toothless but in the 74th minute a slack pass back from Goldson had Gers goalkeeper McLaughlin moving sharply to keep it from crossing the line. On-loan Manchester United forward Diallo had the ball in the net in the 69th minute but the offside flag was up and there was no protest. However, moments later the Swiss keeper bundled Sakala to the ground as he got on the end of a Ramsey pass and up stepped the unerring Tavernier to drive the penalty into the corner to put the hosts ahead. Diallo, on for Scott Wright for the start of the second half, made a yard of space for himself but fired a shot well wide before Siegrist parried another effort from Sakala to safety. Rangers kept probing and after the half-hour mark Sakala pulled a Connor Goldson pass out of the air inside the box but drove wide of the target from 12 yards. Midfielder Arfield, who signed a new contract on Saturday, was playing the false nine position as Rangers pressed the Taysiders from the start, with Sakala drawing a good save from United keeper Siegrist in the ninth minute with an angled drive.

Rangers player ratings v Dundee United in Scottish Premiership clash (Ibrox News)

Europa League finalists Rangers eased to a 2-0 victory over Dundee United with a clinical second-half performance at Ibrox on Sunday afternoon.

Sakala won the penalty and supplied a great assist for Diallo to seal the win. Sakala’s had a mixed season but this was one of his best contributions in the league. While he has had the odd good touch about him – for example, ahead of Fashion Sakala winning the penalty – but other than that, he doesn’t seem as though he cares about this football club. He does well every now and then but on the whole, Wright’s pretty average and not really any more than a squad player for the Light Blues. It’s time to upgrade and refresh the squad, in all honesty, and that could be Davo’s penultimate game at Ibrox for Rangers. It was a dead-rubber tie against Dundee United but we liked what we saw from the American midfielder.

Rangers beat Dundee Utd to delay Celtic title win (BBC Sport)

Giovanni van Bronckhorst praises his much changed Rangers team after they beat Dundee United to delay Celtic's Scottish Premiership title win.

Alexander Lowry (Rangers) right footed shot from the centre of the box is blocked. Fashion Sakala (Rangers) right footed shot from the left side of the box is blocked. Amad Diallo (Rangers) right footed shot from the centre of the box to the centre of the goal. Connor Goldson (Rangers) header from the centre of the box is blocked. Attempt blocked. Charlie McCann (Rangers) right footed shot from outside the box is blocked. Attempt blocked. [European qualification] is still in our hands." "I can have any complaints. We want to keep going. United's strategy was primarily one of containment, a task they performed admirably until the penalty incident. In Kemar Roofe's continued absence, Sakala was the only recognised striker in Rangers' starting line-up but began wide left.
