World's plastic waste mapped from space for the first time (Sky News)

The free, public tool, entirely funded by the philanthropic Australian Minderoo foundation, is designed to help stop plastic from flowing into the ocean. Western countries have their own "problems" with waste sites too, he said. Many of these countries will be processing waste that's been exported by other countries, as well as their own. Mr Kruse is clear-eyed about the fact the tool is not the "be-all and end-all dataset on plastic waste", but hopes governments, NGOs, and communities can use it as a starting point. From a burning waste on a Sri Lankan beach to an Indonesian site seeping into a river, Global Plastic Watch (GPW) can detect sites as small as five by five metres, presenting them in an interactive global map of plastic in near real-time. The Global Plastic Watch team took Sky News on a virtual tour of the site before it launched, showing the hundreds of plastic waste sites scattered round the world.

'I was at Manchester United for a long time' - Warren Joyce planning ... (Manchester Evening News)

Former Man Utd youth coach Warren Joyce will return to Old Trafford with Nottingham Forest Under-18s for the FA Youth Cup final.

They’ve got a lot of international players, well-coached and well-drilled, but we’ve got to give the best version of ourselves." He joined Forest last summer and has built on the outstanding youth foundations built at the club by Gary Brazil. "United have a host of players, I’ve watched them play a few times and it’s a different team every week because they’ve got that many players. But I was at Manchester United for a long time and there were a lot of local lads who came through there who didn’t get paid a lot of money," he said. "The disparity between the money spent on players and wages [between Forest and United] is phenomenal. There was an ignominious relegation for the Under-23s and a series of surprising Youth Cup defeats.

Its mission is to drive inclusive economic growth across the city-region, creating jobs and improving the quality of life for everyone. Our contribution has not just funded a stage for sports and events but it’s leaving a legacy for the local area. Residents and businesses in Perry Barr are already benefitting from the wider regeneration that is taking place. Dominic Olliff, Director of Venues for Birmingham 2022, said: “The newly redeveloped Alexander Stadium looks fantastic. Despite planning permission being obtained just before the wettest February in history (February 2020) and the work being delivered during the unprecedented circumstances of the coronavirus pandemic, the scheme has remained on budget and schedule. “As it will host the track and field programme, and our Opening and Closing Ceremonies, the Stadium is a hugely important venue for the Games, and it has been a joy to witness its incredible transformation over the last couple of years.”

New Scott time trial bike spotted at the Giro d'Italia (BikeRadar.com)

Unreleased disc brake aero machine ridden by Team DSM during the opening weekend.

Typically, time-trial specialists have turned to third-party manufacturers, such as Wattshop and AeroCoach, for integrated aero extensions. Given the current UCI-legal time trial bike in Scott’s catalogue is the Plasma 5, and that the Plasma 4, Plasma 3, Plasma 2 and original Plasma came before it, we might reasonably expect this to be the Plasma 6. The front of the bike tapers to a narrow point on the leading edge, and all of the cables and brake hoses are internally routed through the handlebar and into the frame.

Mental health: 'Time for a culture change in the law' (Law Gazette)

The Law Society and charity LawCare today marked the start of Mental Health Awareness Week by calling on the profession to review its working culture.

Employers that have left junior lawyers without support or supervision [during the pandemic] have seen staff burnout and choose to leave the firm or legal profession in order to protect their health.' Law Society president I. Stephanie Boyce said: 'The legal profession should use Mental Health Awareness Week to take stock of its culture. Nearly 70% of respondents to LawCare’s 2021 Life in the Law survey said they had experienced mental-ill health in the previous year, with young lawyers particularly vulnerable.

How To Play 'Elden Ring' With Limited Amounts Of Time (Forbes)

News and opinion about video games, television, movies and the internet. Follow. May 9, 2022, 09:28am EDT ...

This is actually kind of a great time to play as there are not many other major game releases until fall, and you can work on it during the summer. And this is one playthrough in a game that can easily house multiples. When you know you’re only going to have a very short amount of time, I would use it to just do a little bit of farming to boost yourself up when you can. Sure, you may die going 70% of the way through a dungeon and end up back at the start and didn’t “get” anywhere in your playtime, but you now…know what’s to come, and next time it will be 100%. With limited time you can’t really say “okay today I’m going to clear all of the Academy of Raya Lucia” if you have like, thirty minutes. It’s probably going to take me two full months to finish this game with my current schedule, and if I was working a normal job, you could probably double or triple that, given the amount of content here. Granted I have more time than most in general since my 9-5 job is also technically playing video games, but some of the lessons I’ve learned can apply more broadly to those with similar time constraints.
