The Colombian is ruled out of the Europa League Final but that hasn't stopped him lapping up the occasion with the Gers support.

More than 100,000 Rangers supporters are expected to be in Seville by the close of play today. So far there has been little trouble – with the odd outburst believed to been caused by the Frankfurt fans. Van Bronckhorst revealed last week all his injured stars would be travelling with the team and Morelos looks determined his injury misfortune doesn’t dampen his experience in what is a party atmosphere in the Andalusian capital. However that hasn't stopped him partying with the travelling Ibrox faithful who have travelled far and wide to see the club in their first European final in 14 years.

As Rangers arrive in Seville ahead of tonight's Europa League final against Eintracht Frankfurt, there is apprehension as well as excitement.

It could be a historic evening for Rangers but the club are also desperate for it to pass without detracting incidents. Goals remain a concern and Rangers are once again hoping that striker Kemar Roofe will be able to return, with Alfredo Morelos out for the season. Rangers will miss home advantage in Seville but in Van Bronckhorst on the sidelines they have a calming influence who has played in the biggest games and seen it all before. Those West Ham supporters who travelled in hope were certainly impressed by the atmosphere at the Waldstadion but the feedback Rangers fans have received on Eintracht from a football perspective has been less flattering. There’s a storm heading towards Seville. One way or another, Rangers fans will descend upon the south of Spain in droves and will be met by an Eintracht Frankfurt contingent that will likely match their number. For Eintracht, it was an opportunity to grasp and a chance to rise.

Eintracht Frankfurt: their weaknesses and where they could hurt ... (The Guardian)

Before the Europa League final we look at lessons learned from the German club's win over West Ham in the previous round.

The encouraging thing for Eintracht is that they share the goals around; the worry for them is that they do not have enough ruthless finishers. Their speed makes them very effective on the break and they have shown during this run that they are capable of absorbing pressure. He had a role in Eintracht’s opening goal, was in the right place to tap home the winner after Djibril Sow’s shot was saved and was unlucky to see a deflected shot hit the woodwork during the final stages, so Rangers will need to keep a close eye on the 25-year-old. Wing-backs are crucial for a side using a back three and Eintracht’s are excellent. Borré dropping deep Eintracht’s Colombian forward Rafael Borré is a very clever player. Kamada’s creativity It will be crucial for Rangers to keep a close eye on Daichi Kamada in the final third.

Rangers vs Eintracht Frankfurt – LIVE updates from Europa League ... (Scottish Daily Record)

The game of games is here as the Blue Sea of Ibrox descends on Spain in search of a first European trophy in 50 years.

The support of the fans gives us a huge boost above all in Europe. Being a fan and with everything the club has been through in recent years, it would be an amazing feat. Gio has come in and failed in the league, but the fact he’s been able to get them to a Europa League final gives him a huge amount of kudos. We're driving to Cardiff, getting a flight to Alicante, staying in Torremolinos, then getting a supporters' bus to the game,' she said. Okocha spent four memorable years at Frankfurt in the early nineties. I’m sure Steven Gerrard must be gutted that Rangers are in the final. He (Gio) might be thinking about getting the best team out there and I think Roofe would be part of that. They've shown themselves to be strong against Dortmund and FC Braga, so, for me, why can't they? Kemar Roofe is back in contention but there's a compelling case for Joe Aribo to lead the line. There was a great deal of the looking down their noses attitude towards Scottish football. Jimmy Bell has been a Rangers kit man for thirty years but died unexpectedly this season of a heart attack. We are not without a chance against Frankfurt, because we eliminated RB Leipzig and Borussia Dortmund before.

Rangers fans have descended on Seville ahead of the Europa League final against Eintracht Frankfurt at the Estadio Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan.

Included within that quartet is that epic night against RB Leipzig in the second leg of the semi-finals” Oliver Glasner has been in charge of Frankfurt for a year. They have just finished 11th in the 18-team Bundesliga and did not win any of their closing eight league matches, a run stretching back to mid-March. They drew their final game 2-2 away to Mainz on Sunday. They have been a different animal in Europe, however, with Real Betis, Barcelona and West Ham their three most recent conquests in reaching the final. A Ferran Torres goal cancelled out Ansgar Knuaff’s opener for Frankfurt and the German side had to see out a 1-1 home-leg draw with 10 men. Japanese midfielder Daichi Kamada is also a threat, having netted nine times, including in the away victory over West Ham. Serbian midfielder Filip Kostic, who joined from Hamburg four years ago, is also deemed a key man for Frankfurt. A 90th-minute goal in Germany took the tie into extra time but Frankfurt were saved from penalties by a last-minute own goal.

150000 football fans are expected to descend on Seville as Scottish giant Rangers seek their first European title in 50 years.

Prior to reaching the final this term, their best run since winning silverware in 1980 was in 2019 when they reached the semi-final of the Europa League before losing to Chelsea. Their only appearance in the European Cup final brought a 7-3 defeat against Real Madrid at Hampden in 1960. Match Report: Frankfurt 1:1 (5-4 Pens) Rangers (Rangers Football Club)

PENALTIES were the decider in Seville this evening as Rangers lost out in the UEFA Europa League final to Eintracht Frankfurt.

A ball into the box took a touch off Frankfurt defender Djibril Sow to send it into the path of Joe Aribo who was through on goal. Kemar Roofe made it 4-4 on penalties but Rafael Borré sealed the trophy for Frankfurt with their final spot-kick. Shortly after, Rangers were awarded a free-kick in a dangerous position to the left of the box after Ryan Kent was fouled. Scott Arfield was up third and fired a powerful penalty beyond Trapp with Daichi Kamada making it 3-3. Fashion Jr had an effort held by Trapp before Glen Kamara saw a shot blocked, while Kostic flashed a dangerous ball across the face of goal but thankfully for Rangers no one was able to get on the end of it for Frankfurt. The German side were the first to have a shot on goal in this game as Daichi Kamada drove into the box before getting a shot away but it was blocked by Allan McGregor. The clearance fell for Djibril Sow who curled the ball towards goal but it was held by the Rangers number one.

Ramsey had been brought on as a substitute for the Glasgow team after 117 minutes of the game. The legs were heavy, the efforts tired but not spared, even if the fear of defeat weighed as heavy as the determination to win and the errors were accumulating, shots often taken too early. Then Kamada, alone in the area, lifted his shot over McGregor and on to the roof of the net, fists beating at the turf in frustration. But Eintracht did level when Kostic’s cross passed by four men in blue, Goldson the last one to see it go, just as Borré nipped in front of him at the near post to turn it into the net. He struck a clever shot onto the roof of the net from 20 yards and then went flying up the pitch from one area to the other only to pull wide on half an hour. Eintracht especially, at least to start with, Daichi Kamada taking a touch too many when the first opportunity dropped, eventually stopped by McGregor, and Djibril Sow unable to put away the follow up. Then a glorious 118th-minute chance for Ryan Kent would have won it only for Kevin Trapp to make an extraordinary save from close range, the follow-up from Steven Davis somehow deflecting over the bar.

Rangers Europa aftermath LIVE as Gio's heroes fall at the final hurdle (Scottish Daily Record)

All the reaction after the Ibrox giants gave their all but just fell short in Europa League odyssey.

Great effort in the Europa League from Rangers and the players have given their all. It’s disappointing that we took the lead and to concede a goal like that. With the amount of penalties they’ve been awarded this season I fancied them in the shootout mind. No abuse for Ramsey please, had the bottle to step up and take a huge penalty. Fans of both sides are weary as they make the journey home. I thought there really wasn't much in the game to be honest. I think he played really well today, he scored an important goal and in the end he was empty and we had to change him. It was quite a nervy game as you would expect when there's so much on the line. When you're out there at Hampden in front of a full house, you're on the touchline on your own. It was a fantastic effort to get there. You have to focus on what's best for the team. It wasn't a good penalty but the goalkeeper did well.
