Port Vale v Swindon - live updates from play-off semi-final (Wiltshire Live)

Swindon Town aim to seal their place in League Two play-off final as they take on Port Vale at Vale Park, going in with a 2-1 aggregate lead.

Nearly a carbon copy of the goal. If he had picked his head up, Landolo was in acres of space on the left of the box. Much better start to this half by the away side. Harrat runs through the Town defence and gets past everyone, squares it to Wilson who sees a certain goal cleared off the line before firing the rebound over. It is expected that Town will play with the same team as the first leg. Harrat picks up on a poor Baudry header and runs into the box, he looks to Wilson at the back post but Landolo gets a vital touch on it to clear for a corner. Better from the fullback, it was a strong shot from the top of the box but was shut down quickly and blocked. A nice bit of possession for Swindon as it comes to Williams in a good crossing position on the left edge of the box, his head is lifted but the ball is massively overhit and nothing comes of it. Heroic defending and great goalkeeping. Clever build-up between Payne and Reed leads to Landolo with space in the box to shoot but it's deflected against himself and goes out for a goalkick. As it is, Payne runs into the box and shoots into a defender for a corner. A nice move for Swindon who swith the play to McKirdy and get a cross in to the back post, Hall's calm chest back to Stone keeps Vale on the ball, even if it does force him into a panicked dive in the process.

The Valiants look to overturn a first leg deficit as they host the Robins in their play-off semi-final.

Swindon were able to get out to a lead in the tie, grabbing a 2-1 victory at home in the first leg. His brace in the first leg took his total for the season to 23 goals and in this form, he looks no sign of slowing down as the Robins seek a trip to Wembley. The Robins won the first leg 2-1 at the County Ground thanks to a brace by Harry McKirdy. James Wilson pulled one back for the Valiants to set up an exciting finish to this tie.

With 15 minutes to play, Vale could have gone further ahead on the night, only to be denied by heroic Town defending. Ward dived but he was getting nowhere near it - the ball skimmed off the post and behind for a goal-kick. Vale remained in the ascendancy, and they almost took the lead on aggregate midway through the first half. Mandela Egbo received a pass and attempted to cross into the box. All Wilson had to do was tap home, but he somehow dragged it wide from a couple of yards out with his left. A goalless next 110 minutes followed as penalties were required to split the teams.

They then had a lot more of the ball after that without really creating a lot of chances. It is hard to say without sounding corny, but the support I've had since losing one of the dearest things to me in my life has been so unbelievable and overwhelming. My emotions got the better of me, so I apologised to Swindon and to Dion - good club, good player. I have had an emotional time and it is the first time I have been sent off. There was drama in the first five as Clarke came out of his technical area to try and prevent the ballboy from throwing the ball to Conroy, before squaring up to the defender, which forced referee Seb Stockbridge's hand. After Benning had fired in to make it 5-5 in sudden death, Iandolo stepped up to keep Swindon alive, but failed to do so as he blazed over the bar to seal the Robins' fate.

Owner Carol Shanahan has condemned the 'small minority' of Port Vale fans involved in ugly scenes following last night's play-off win over Swindon Town.

She said: "It's been emotional from the beginning of pre-season with nine players and David Flitcroft and Darrell Clarke building a squad. They won't be going to Wembley - and they won't be coming to Vale Park again. She said: "There were a lot of cameras on that crowd last night and we will be looking at every single bit. It's wrong and players should be able to get off the pitch. And anybody we, or the police, identify, that did anything that is not befitting of Port Vale - they will be dealt with. And I’m supposed to keep my cool - if I react I’m the bad guy right?"

Port Vale prevail on penalties to reach play-off final against Mansfield (BT Sport)

Swindon were pegged back to 2-2 on aggregate by James Wilson's goal and Ellis Iandolo missed the crucial spot-kick.

Wilson then made sure he scored with a second bite of the cherry. But then the home side lost their manager after he was dismissed for a needless altercation with Conroy by the dugouts. David Worrall whipped in a lovely cross but the usually reliable Wilson somehow missed the ball with the goal at his mercy.

However, it is not acceptable for supporters to enter the field of play at any time given the EFL’s objective is to ensure our matches remain a safe and welcoming one for all. The incident came in a week where pitch invasions have overshadowed and tarnished what has been a typically fascinating set of play-off clashes. They released a lengthy statement, saying: "Further punitive action will follow for those who continue to disregard ground regulations and break the law at football matches. Vale chief Darrell Clarke, who was sent to the stands following a clash with Robins captain Dion Conroy in extra-time, added: "We don't want to see that in our game. I don’t know where we’re going to as a country, but it’s absolutely disgusting." Perhaps predictably, the victory was toasted with a full-scale pitch invasion, but like other semi-final games earlier this week, it was not without controversy.
