Amber Heard's Aquaman 2 Claims Will Be Denied by Warner Bros ... (CBR)

Warner Bros. president Walter Hamada will deny Amber Heard's claim that the Aquaman actor had to fight to return as Mera in the upcoming DCEU sequel.

Heard explained that although she is still in The Lost Kingdom, it is a "very pared-down version of that role," explaining that multiple script revisions severely reduced Mera's role in the upcoming sequel. Hamada previously stated that any doubt about Heard's future in the Aquaman franchise was over "concerns about her chemistry with star Jason Momoa" and not about her relationship with Depp. Heard has been a part of the DC Extended Universe since 2016 when she signed on to play Mera in Justice League (2017) and Aquaman (2018). According to Deadline, Hamada is expected to deny Heard's previous claims that she had to fight to remain part of the cast for 2023's Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, the upcoming sequel to 2018's Aquaman which starred Heard as Mera opposite Jason Momoa's titular superhero.

All over the place, too many details, fake sighs, forced tears and looks to the jury.. After a week-long break in the defamation trial, Heard returned to the stand on May 16. Although Heard didn't name Depp as her abuser, she recounted stories of abuse from the year 2016.

Blake Lively Replacing Amber Heard In Aquaman 2? (GIANT FREAKIN ROBOT)

The ongoing defamation trial between Amber Heard and Johnny Depp is ongoing, as plenty of harrowing and personal details have come out about both parties.

The petition for Lively to come in is only at a meager 3,600 signatures, so fans better get working if they are to make as much noise as the other petition. Wright famously directed the fan-favorite film Scott Pilgrim, and he is now going to likely guide Lively as she adapts Bryan Lee O’Malley’s, Seconds. She might not have time to jump into a new franchise, but Blake Lively in Aquaman could theoretically save that movie from disaster. Another petition has now been started that sees people want to see Blake Lively in Aquaman instead. Now fans are taking it upon themselves to try and bring Blake Lively into Aquaman. All this drama aside, Lively would be an incredible addition to the MCU. She certainly has the acting chops to replace Heard as Mera. The change might also be good for the film as well, as the fallout from this trial is certainly substantial. It is now over 4.3 million signatures, as more and more people seem to be backing the idea that Heard has been the abuser in the relationship. According to Heard, she had been given a more substantial role in Aquaman 2, but that role has now been shrunk down to less than 10 minutes of screentime.

'Aquaman' Fans Call Out Amber Heard for Looking Down on the ... (Showbiz Cheat Sheet)

'Aquaman' fans are slamming Amber Heard for her opinion about women in the world of superheroes in a resurfaced interview.

I was pleasantly surprised when I heard that she was an empowered superhero in her own right. This is a substantial role in a big Hollywood movie that likely had actors lined up for the part. Heard continued: “I had a vague understanding of what I could expect, the representation of my character would be based on the vague understanding of the representation I’ve seen of women in that particular genre, especially. Heard starred as Mera in Aquaman, who brought her aquatic superpowers right from the pages of the comics. James Wan’s Aquaman brought Jason Momoa and Heard to the screen in a brand new way for their characters. Heard earned a huge opportunity with the DC Extended Universe movie, so why did she draw such an issue with it?

"Aquaman" should have been Amber Heard's "'A Star Is Born' moment"; instead, the actress's career shows barely a flicker.

Every time Depp has filed a lawsuit, it has “brought to light various issues,” she testified. “It was just this extraordinary moment for her, for her career to take off.” “It was that moment where not only was she a good actor, but she was now world-renowned because she was in the most successful film … for DC Comics,” Arnold said about “Aquaman,” which grossed more than $1.1 billion at the box office.

Which was “significant,” in Arnold’s telling, most notably as it applied to Heard’s starring role in the Aquaman sub-franchise of Warner Bros. films. The Johnny Depp/Amber Heard defamation trial continues to skulk its way across the seafloor of the online subconscious this week, occasionally vomiting up some industry factoid or moment of strangeness that inevitably rises to the surface to be fitfully dissected and perused. Per The Wrap, Arnold—who was called as a witness on Heard’s behalf, as she attempts to fend off Depp’s accusations of defamation over an op-ed she wrote about being a survivor of abuse from a few years back—noted that “research showed whenever Heard’s name was mentioned, whether in connection to a film, TV show, magazine article, or endorsement deal, there was immediate backlash from fans on social media.” (Readers at home can replicate this research by spending approximately four seconds on Twitter in 2022.) As such, Warner Bros. told Heard she was functionally disinvited from FanDome, the company’s now-annual celebration of its brands and various film properties.

Amber Heard's Aquaman 2 role 'saved' by Jason Momoa, court hears (Metro)

The actress, who plays Mera in Aquaman, only kept her role in the sequel after Momoa fought for her, the court heard in the Johnny Depp trial.

It comes after Heard earlier testified that she was given a new script for Aquaman 2 with a ‘very pared-down version’ of her role. In the op-ed, Heard opened up about her experience as being a domestic abuse survivor but did not mention Depp by name. She also denied that she only got the role because of her connection to Depp. Arnold also denied that this was due to a reported lack of chemistry between Heard and Momoa. The entertainment expert said Heard was ‘fighting for her life’ to be in the film and was paid $2m (£1.6m) to star in the sequel, the same salary she reportedly received for the first instalment. During her testimony, Arnold claimed Heard, 36, only kept her role because Momoa, who plays the film’s titular superhero, and the movie’s director James Wan ‘committed to her’ and were ‘adamant she was in the film’. Amber Heard only kept her role in the upcoming Aquaman 2 because the film’s lead star Jason Momoa fought for her to stay, the court heard in her bombshell libel trial against ex-husband Johnny Depp.

Warner Bros. Considered Replacing Amber Heard in 'Aquaman 2' (Variety)

Walter Hamada, the head of DC Films, testified that the studio considered recasting Heard's role in 'Aquaman 2' due to poor chemistry.

Heard has alleged that her role was “pared down” considerably over time, but Hamada testified it has remained static since the film was first developed in 2018. Heard was paid $1 million for the first “Aquaman,” and $2 million for the sequel. “They didn’t have a lot of chemistry together,” Hamada said.
