Mum who stabbed her two children denied knowing what she was ... (ITV News)

A woman who killed her toddler son and almost killed his baby brother tearfully denied to police that she knew what she was doing, a jury has heard.

Last week, the trial judge, told the jury “there is no dispute” that the defendant stabbed the children but rather, “what is in dispute is her mental state at the relevant time". They heard how detectives put to her that in the space of time she can't recall, she drugged the two little boys, drugged herself, texted her fiancé, penned several notes, took the boys and a knife upstairs to the bedroom and stabbed them in their necks and abdomen in a “calculated way". A woman who killed her toddler son and almost killed his baby brother tearfully denied to police that she knew what she was doing in interviews, a jury heard on Monday.

Clarion put on notice by 'deeply disappointed' Housing Secretary ... (ITV News)

Last year, an ITV News investigation found Clarion tenants living in squalid conditions on one of its biggest housing estates in South London.

"I am deeply disappointed that as one of the largest social housing landlords, who should be setting an example, you have not been able to meet fundamental standards for your tenants. In the letter to Clarion's Chief Executive Clare Miller, Mr Gove cited the Eastfields investigation and raised concerns the same problems are still surfacing in its properties a year on. Last year an ITV News investigatio n found Clarion tenants living in squalid conditions on one of its biggest housing estates in Merton, South London. The landlord carried out over 500 repairs on the Eastfields estate following our expose and apologised to tenants, but insisted it was an isolated case.

Michael Gove vows to get tough with social housing landlords in ... (Big Issue)
