Two cats belonging to the West Ham footballer are still under the care of the RSPCA after he was filmed kicking one of them three months ago.

Prosecutors told the court that in the video he can be heard saying: "I swear I'll kill it." He admitted two counts of causing unnecessary suffering to a protected animal on 6 February by kicking it in the abdomen and slapping it on the head. Kurt Zouma has pleaded guilty to kicking and slapping a cat after footage emerged of the incident in February.

That video had been filmed by Zouma's 24-year-old brother Yoan, who admitted to one offense.

A third charge of failing to “protect the animal from pain suffering injury or disease” in contravention of section 9 was withdrawn.
