Real Madrid 'agree £85m Aurelien Tchouameni deal' (Sports Mole)

Real Madrid agree to sign Monaco midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni in a €100m (£85m) deal, according to a report.

Tchouameni leaves Monaco having scored eight goals and provided seven assists in 95 games for the club in all competitions, and his deal at the Stade Louis-II was due to expire in 2024. According to The Athletic, Real Madrid have now reached a "verbal agreement" with Monaco for the transfer of Tchouameni and could end up forking out a nine-figure sum for the youngster. The 22-year-old was also named into the Ligue 1 Team of the Season and impressed in the Europa League and Coupe de France, leading to widespread interest in his services.

The Austrian midfielder is reportedly available for a cut-price fee this summer with his contract expiring in 2023. However, other clubs who need a defensive midfielder this summer will likely be interested in him. He is also defensively solid, averaging 2.63 tackles and 2.26 interceptions per 90 minutes and alongside someone like Frenkie de Jong, he would create a good double pivot. But the Frenchman is now on the verge of completing a move to Real Madrid. Given that Declan Rice has seemingly been priced out of a move by West Ham United, Aurelien Tchouameni suddenly looked like the perfect option for United to target. A holding midfielder needs to be a priority for United this summer but the issue is that the options are becoming more and more limited; Boubacar Kamara was another player a lot of fans thought the club should sign but he has moved to Aston Villa. So, let's have a look at some of the other options Erik ten Hag could consider.

Eight midfield transfer options for Liverpool as Aurelien Tchouameni ... (Daily Star)

Liverpool had been desperately trying to entice Aurelien Tchouameni to the club this summer but the Monaco man is expected to opt for a transfer to Real ...

While it would be extraordinary to see Chelsea lose Mount to a Premier League rival, the fact that Liverpool and United are interested indicates that this might be an option after all. One player that looks destined to leave their club this summer is Tielemans after telling Leicester he will not sign a new contract. Interest is high in the midfielder from the likes of Manchester City and United, but Liverpool have recently been linked as well. Liverpool might consider themselves the most attractive location, though, considering they can offer the chance of winning top trophies on a more consistent basis right now. However, Dortmund are in no mood to sell this year - but a departure could be on the cards next summer. The most obvious solution to Liverpool's midfield issues is Borussia Dortmund star Bellingham, who is still remarkably just 18.

This is quite clear for him and for us,” Carlo Ancelotti said in March 2022. The attacking midfielder left for Torino in 1990 after a row over money but failed to settle in Italy and then had a short stint at Marseille before returning to Madrid in October 1992. After starring for Lyon and establishing himself as one of Europe’s best young strikers, Benzema rejected Manchester United and signed for Madrid in the summer of 2009. The 28-year-old looks set to leave Madrid for a second time in 2022 and has been linked with a return to Lyon. After legendary left-back Marcelo began to show signs of slowing down in the 2018-19 season, Madrid planned for the future and signed Mendy from Lyon in a £47.1million deal. The France international made a handful of appearances as Madrid won La Liga in the 2019-20 season but failed to impress enough to earn a permanent move.
