Norrington-Davies takes the ball down well before feeding Wilson on the left flank, and his cross is turned behind for a Wales corner. Brennan Johnson does well to get the ball under his control on the right wing, and his cross is blocked. Joe Rodon's pass is intercepted, and the visitors break, but Teun Koopmeiners' shot is blocked. Mark Frekken is charged down by Daniel James, and the goalkeeper's clearance deflects off the Wales man and out for a goal-kick. Daniel James quickly adjusts his feet to shoot from outside the box, but it's an easy save for Mark Flekken. As was the case for the 2-1 loss in Poland, Page is likely to rest several of his key stars for tonight's contest at Cardiff City Stadium.

Wales welcome the Netherlands to Cardiff on Wednesday night with both teams on a high after big wins over the weekend. The Netherlands began their own campaign with an eye-catching victory over Belgium last Friday. Goals from Steven Bergwijn, Denzel Dumfries and a brace from Memphis Depay ensured Michy Batshuayi's stoppage-time strike was nothing more than a consolation for the Red Devils, so confidence should be high in the Dutch camp. Can the Dragons come back down to Earth in time to kick-off their new 2022 Nations League campaign with an unlikely win? That means Cillessen, Timber, van Dijk, Aké, Dumfries, Berghuis, De Jong, Klaassen, Blind, Depay and Bergwijn are all out, with Flekken, Teze, De Vrij, De Ligt, Hateboer, Koopmeiners, Schouten, Malacia, Lang, Gakpo and Weghorst coming in.

Wales vs Netherlands live: score and latest updates from Nations ... (Telegraph.co.uk)

Wales looking to hit the space behind the Dutch back three but this long ball skips through to Flekken in goal. The atmosphere is a little subdued and flat now.

The result against Belgium was fantastic but we have to look forward and develop a team for the World Cup." That could mean a chance for the likes of Harry Wilson and Brennan Johnson, who has enjoyed a golden few weeks after winning promotion to the Premier League with Nottingham Forest. The last meeting was back in 2015 with Netherlands winning 3-2 in Cardiff thanks to an Arjen Robben double. Harry Wilson climbs at the back post from a Wales corner and heads not far wide of the post. A full sweep of 11 changes. The atmosphere is a little subdued and flat now. Cross clipped into the box but Gakpo is crowded out. Ben Davies pushing forward, but his cross from the left floats out for a goal kick. Scary moment for Netherlands and a let off. Netherlands then enjoy a longer sequence of passes but it is almost all in front of Wales. Rodon reads play well to cut out a low cross from Gakpo. Wales enjoying some territory and pressure, but Netherlands stand firm at successive corners. Wales sprint back to stop any potential counter-attack.

“There were no arguments, Tosh would put them in the team and he said, ‘These players will get battered in Germany but they’ll learn… Saunders added: “He’s played a big part, John Toshack. He gave all these players 50 caps before they were 25. “He understands he needs to play. Wales v Netherlands, Republic of Ireland v Ukraine: Nations League ... (The Guardian)

20 min: A big stroke of luck for Dutch keeper Mark Flekken, who takes his sweet time playing out from the back and eventually batters the ball against Dan ...

Meanwhile in Group B1, Scotland get their campaign underway with a supposedly easy home tie against Armenia, but look what they did to the Republic of Ireland last weekend. 5 min: Nearly a fast start for Scotland at Hampden against Armenia. Andy Robertson crosses deep from the left. It’s swung in from the left, and Harry Wilson rises highest at the near post. The closest we’ve come to a shot on target in Cardiff, which speaks volumes. He’s one of six changes to the side beaten 3-1 by Ukraine last week. 19 min: Up at Hampden, John McGinn pearls a long-distance effort inches over the top-right corner. McGinn swings in a corner from the right. 28 min: Wales have come back well at the Netherlands. A free kick out on the right now. The home side load the box. McKenna meets it, unchallenged, six yards out, and plants a downward header into the net. There’s space for Stuart Armstrong on the left. But the goal’s ruled out for offside, Artem Dovbyk flagged correctly earlier in the move.

Wales 1-2 Netherlands: Weghorst scores dramatic winner in Nations ... (WalesOnline)

Wales' unbeaten home record under Rob Page was ended as they were defeated 2-1 by Netherlands in the Nations League. Joe Allen, Wayne Hennessey, ...

The hosts had the better chances in the first-half but fell behind to Teun Koopmeiners' driven strike early on in the second-half. But Wout Weghorst headed home a minute later to seal a dramatic win for the visitors as Wales' run of 19 home matches without defeat was ended. But he was beaten just five minutes into what was his fourth cap as Atalanta star Koopmeiners drilled into the far corner with his side's first shot on target. Goalkeeper Mark Flekken then had to punch away Wilson's driven free-kick before he was tested by James as Wales created the better openings. The visitors enjoyed plenty of possession, but with pace in abundance, Wales carried a threat themselves and they created two chances from unlikely avenues. James' blistering speed paved the way for an opening, although the Leeds United man drilled well over after linking up with Wilson on the counter attack. It's another poor pass from Levitt in the middle of the park just as Wales had numbers to damage in the final third. Joe Allen, Wayne Hennessey, Kieffer Moore, Aaron Ramsey and Neco Williams were all left out of the squad following their monumental efforts in the World Cup play-off final win over Ukraine three days earlier. Into the final minute and Wales are still ooking to push now, but they lose the ball cheaply. Wales seeing a lot more of the ball now, but Netherlands are well organised defensively. But Welsh hearts were broken moments later as Weghorst headed home to win it for the away side as Wales suffered their first home defeat since being beaten by Denmark in November 2018. Time was ticking, and Gareth Bale and Rabbi Matondo replaced James and Johnson with 13 minutes left on the clock, much to the delight of the Red Wall. And they looked to have stolen a point at the death as Norrington-Davies headed Connor Roberts' cross beyond Flekken in the second minute of added time.
