How to watch the Summer Game Fest livestream, hosted by Geoff Keighley, with planned appearances involving The Callisto Protocol, Call of Duty: Modern ...
Game Fest host Geoff Keighley has tried to set expectations for the show this year, saying it won’t be filled with “megaton shocks” and will involve mostly known titles. “We’ve got a couple of new game announcements in the show and hopefully some surprises if everything holds. Summer Game Fest isn’t quite E3 — which was unceremoniously canceled earlier this year.
Join us for all the games, announcements, and awkward celebrity cameos from Summer Game Fest 2022 - as they happen.
They just arrived via speed-boat to some big oil platform, and now they be shooting away. Yep, this all looks very impressive, as expected. Ooh, I like the tipping platform that they're all fighting on. Oh, it's Routine! Yep, it's a survival horror game, and it's been in the works for ten years. Now here's The Rock, dialling in from a gym and plugging... Glad there was still some mention of it, and the situation surrounding it. We're getting a snippet of boss fight gameplay here, and it looks as delightful and creative and crazy as the first. I love Humankind, I think it's a fantastic 4X. And it looks like they're adding a new culture for each of the six eras to choose from. Lots of shooting and slicing and dodging to the beat of lots of great metal music. Here's a new look at the survival crafting game from Inflexion Games, a studio of ex-BioWare devs. They'll be cameoing on the show. Myself and Ollie will be operating the liveblog levers as it all kicks off tonight, June 9th, from 7pm BST / 2pm ET / 11am PT.

It's the definitive version of the game, Neil Druckmann says. It takes place in another part of the United States. Is that the Golden Gate Bridge? I like the look of it. Naughty Dog is remaking, from the ground up, The Last of Us: Part 1. It's put out a couple of average games recently so this could be a really key title for it. I actually visited Bloober in Cracow in Poland - I've been a couple of times. It looks gorgeous but it's hard to know how much of this is gameplay. I was sat at the back of an audience at a small game show in Spain and I could hear him talking to himself at the back of the room. The demo is live now on all platforms it sounds like. It's all going to be on the same engine too. I'm sure it's a similar kind of day out.

Day one of Summer Game Fest promises "meaningful updates on games.” Netflix, Tribeca and Xbox showcases are scheduled for later in the week.
“What I would say is that a lot of the games we’re going to show you are going to be [already] announced,” he So will Call of Duty end up on the subscription service? My guess is new Call of Duty games will start outside of Game Pass to not interrupt the yearly revenue new Call of Duty games generate. scheduleon the Summer Game Fest website has ballooned from four events to eight. We can’t wait to share more details soon.” First, “Warzone” will be coming to mobile platforms at an unspecified date later this year. “Everyone’s opinions continue to evolve among all these topics, so it’s hard to put a pin in something and say, ‘Hey, this is exactly how we’re going to treat this throughout the entire year.’” It’s supposed to be coming to early access soon and fans can wishlist now. Baker said the game is meant to feel like “ ‘Dead Space’ meets a Duncan Jones movie.” “Fort Solis” is a new sci-fi horror game starring the somehow-ageless — He’s 46! Popular Twitch streamers, including Asmongold, Esfand and Matthew “Mizkif” Rinaudo, will get to playtest the game in its early form as part of an investment deal. “Outriders” first released in April of last year. With some heavy metal cords and a string of superheroes, 2K and Firaxis Games gave fans another look at “Marvel Midnight Suns,” a tactical RPG featuring some deep cuts from the comic book universe.
Keigh3 started with Call of Duty gameplay and a ton of release dates.
The game itself was initially supposed to come out in February but was delayed to August. The game is called Layers of Fears. It’s being made in Unreal 5. Nightingale is a co-op role-playing game with time travel elements set in a fantasy realm decked out in Victorian affectations. The Saints Row reboot, first announced last year, is getting a demo...for its character creator. Bloober Team, the folks behind last year’s polarizing The Medium, have a another psychological horror game in the pipeline. Bandai Namco showed off more gameplay for One Piece Odyssey, its turn-based RPG based on one of the most popular manga series of all time. The PS5 version, called The Last of Us Part I, is out September 2, 2022. Highwater, from Rogue Games, is a strategy game set in the future, on a version of Earth mostly submerged by water. Naughty Dog’s Neil Druckmann, rocking a new short haircut and a shirt that I’m 90% sure I own (from J. Crew), announced a standalone multiplayer game in the Last of Us universe. It’s rare for these sorts of events, but yes, we saw one game that had a vivid color palette. It’s set in the afterlife and is designed for speedrunning, marrying tight platforming and Doom-style first-person shooting with dating sim mechanics. Over the course of a streamed event that ran for two hours but felt like 2o, host Geoff Keighley ran through more trailers than an AMC pre-show.
E3 is taking a hiatus in 2022 but that doesn't mean we won't get a bunch of video game announcements, trailers, deep-dives and more this June.
There are a number of other showcases and livestreams taking place over the next week or so. You can expect to see a new game from the Monument Valley studio, Ustwo, as well as other indie titles. E3 is slated to return in 2023.

Some games aim to put a different spin on a familiar genre, but it seems Super People would rather give you more of the same but turn it up to 11. Midnight Suns returns from a lengthy delay with a trailer showcasing more of the chaotic fight against Lilith, Mother of Demons. The new trailer shows that Spider-Man will swing in to join the fray, but he’ll be up against some demonic versions of Hulk and Venom that are sure to prove a worthy challenge. It’s Supermassive’s follow-up to their 2015 teen slasher adventure game Until Dawn, widely considered as one of the best exclusives ever to hit the PS4. The Quarry is not so constrained, though, and will be available to PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X Puzzle platformer American Arcadia’s new trailer gave a deeper insight into the strange, 70’s dystopia that players will need to escape from when it arrives on PC and consoles. That’s appropriate, considering some of the devs are ex-Blizzard people, having previously worked on Warcraft and StarCraft. You can register now for a beta that’s coming in 2023. This time it looks like you and your pals will be taking a trip to the mountains and shooting the goodies out of some frost monsters. The Worldslayers DLC for 2021’s Outriders is imminent, with a release date at the end of this month (literally, June 30th). A lot of us here at RPS had honestly forgotten Outriders was a thing already, but fans of the three-player co-op looter-shooter will no doubt enjoy returning to the setting. It’s all very ominous, with plenty of scares to be had as the trailer cuts after one of those robot nasties lunges at the player from behind. A new trailer for dark fantasy FPS Witchfire showed the protagonist blasting their way through demons with a lovely range of chunky guns. So far it’s looking pretty similar to the original, but fortunately it’s been long enough for that to be a legitimately retro style by now. Is it bad to say that The Callisto Protocol feels more like an Alien game than the actual Aliens game we just saw a few minutes prior? We also got an extended first look at some proper gameplay footage, and the new trailer concludes on one of what promises to be many interesting death animations for long-suffering main character Jacob! So that’s nice.
Here's everything announced at the Summer Game Fest 2022 – from that brand new look at Street Fighter 6 in the broadcast's opening minutes to the impressive ...
A new showing of Gotham Knights gave us a more extended look at Nightwing, Batman's original Robin gone solo, Dick Grayson. In the gameplay on show we see more of Nightwing's fighting style - a mix of breakdancing and hitting people with sticks, as well as his specific form or aerial movement to speed across the rooftops - a miniature batwing that teleports in like a Fortnite glider. It's packed with characters from the long-running One Piece manga and anime - now stranded on a mysterious island - and the signature style of Eiichiro Oda has been applied to every last inch of the game's world. Tribute Games and Dotemu showed up at the Summer Game Fest to reveal a brand new slice of gameplay for its highly anticipated beat 'em up, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge. There were some radical pieces of news in the new trailer. As mysterious as it appears dangerous, the world of Nightingale looks gorgeous – a world that's being crafted by former Mass Effect devs who hope to conquer the survival genre with better world-building. The trailer gives you a good glimpse at what the upcoming game’s moment-to-moment gameplay feels like, with a cast of anime and sometimes animalistic characters taking turns to hack and slash their way through mechs as they dodge attacks. The presentation started off by looking like a recut of the iconic trailer for the long-MIA Dead Island 2 – which just so happens to have one of the greatest announcement trailers of all-time. This one looks like it's going to be a lot of fun, and we're desperate to get our hands on it. Between the showcase's bigger reveals, we saw the next step for People Can Fly's Outriders – a new slice of DLC named Worldslayer. Set in a frozen, icy area, it appears that a rift in the world is transforming its inhabitants in new ways which, as you might expect, results in a lot of chaos and violence. Of all the announced games that could have shown up in the Summer Game Fest, you'd have never ever have guessed this one. Developer The Astronauts is promising that Witchfire will feature no cutscenes, and will instead route its action through a constant and demanding stream of enemies. The originally named Flashback 2 will feature on all consoles, as per its Summer Game Fest showing, and looks to continue the first game's themes of sci-fi platforming, this time, somewhat expectedly, in 3D. Teased via a stylish cinematic set against footage of the original game, we weren't shown too much – but the very fact the series is being picked back up over three decades is interesting in itself. Titled Alien: Dark Descent, it's a squad-based, single-player action game that will task you with leading a group of soldiers, in real-time, through a terrifying Xenomorph outbreak on Moon Lethe. We'll need to lead strategically and act aggressively to survive Aliens: Dark Descent when it launches on PC and console in 2023.
Summer Game Fest 2022 is here and promises to deliver exciting game announcements and reveals. We've got the latest and most exciting news from Geoff ...
As leaked earlier, we have a "reveal" for The Last of Us Remake. This one was built from the ground up for PS5 and looks phenomenal. The original Joel and Ellie, Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson (respectively) will play a part of The Last of Us TV series. A public beta will happen in 2023 but hopefully, we'll see more footage before then. The game director also discussed The Last of Us TV series and how it feels similar to the video game. One of the games of the Summer - @Outriders Worldslayer is out June 30! The latter is a brand-new game from an indie studio, which is pretty cool! It will be fun to play as him again in the upcoming game. I have to assume we'll see game developers and industry folks pop up at one point or another. Congrats to you and the team for all the work to put the show together. These aren't all the games we'll see today, but they give us a good idea of what to expect. We expect to see reveals of previously announced games, but there's a chance we'll also see brand-new world premieres. While Summer Game Fest 2022 had its fair share of commercials (did we really need to see a trailer for Black Adam during a games show?), the ads didn't feel as blatant as they have in years past.
Geoff Keighley's Summer Game Fest 2022 livestream featured announcements for The Callisto Protocol, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, and The Last of Us Part ...
Naughty Dog’s big news actually leaked before Summer Game Fest: it’s releasing a remake of The Last of Us Part I for PlayStation 5 on September 2nd, and a version for PC is in development. Now it’s got a new trailer, which lists it as coming to PC, Xbox Series X and S, Xbox One, and Xbox Game Pass at an unknown date. Frost Giant Studios was founded by former Blizzard developers, including veterans from the StarCraft and Warcraft real-time strategy series, and just revealed its first title: a sci-fi-plus-demons RTS called Stormgate. Stormgate is supposed to “stay true” to the classic RTS formula. The sequel is being developed by French studio Microids, and it’s apparently coming to current- and next-gen PlayStation and Xbox consoles, Steam, and Nintendo Switch in winter of 2022. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II is months away from its October 28th release, and Summer Game Fest cast a little more light on what we’ll find there, showing a full playthrough of a level. The game is scheduled for release on current- and next-generation PlayStation and Xbox consoles, plus PC, in 2023.
Summer Game Fest 2022's main presentation has just wrapped up. Here were the biggest and best trailers, announcements, and reveals from the show.
Given that some of the minds behind Painkiller and Bulletstorm are working on this game, you can expect it to be a beautiful, fast-paced, and fundamentally entertaining shooter with style to burn. The worst-kept secret of Summer Game Fest 2022 was leaked ahead of the actual event and formally revealed during the showcase. There appears to be a bit of Starcraft in this game’s themes and design, but Stormgate’s team says that they want to find ways for this free-to-play RTS to stay true to the genre’s spirit while introducing a few new ideas. Developer Bloober Team returns to the Layers of Fear series with this 2023 sequel that doesn’t look like it’s going to break the franchise’s mold. What little we’ve seen of the game so far suggests that it might actually be able to recreate the horror, action, and intensity that helped make Aliens a multi-genre classic. Besides, it’s hard to complain about a show that still featured games like The Last of Us, Marvel’s Midnight Suns, Gotham Knights, and Cuphead when the industry is still dealing with Covid-19-related delays and hardware shortages.
Although it may not have been the absurdly large event that some folks were hoping for, there is a lot to unpack from Summer Game Fest.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge is also expanding its roster with the likes of Casey Jones. The beloved character will be part of the highly anticipated game when it releases on its newly revealed release date of June 16th. prev prev prev prev Summer Game Fest included looks at Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, The Callisto Protocol, and a number of other highly anticipated games that will likely be sure to dominate sales charts, fair well with critics, and much more.
The Last of Us Part 1 is coming. Again. Naughty Dog copresident Neil Druckmann announced the news today during Summer Game Fest, the kickoff event of this ...
An HBO adaptation of the game is currently underway, starring Game of Thrones stars Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey. And, according to Sony, its sequel, The Last of Us Part II, has sold more than 10 million copies. Back in 2020, ahead of its highly anticipated sequel, The Last of Us Part II, leakers spread key information about the game, including major plot points. The Last of Us Part 1 is coming.
Summer Games Fest 2022 has come and gone. We received new game announcements from both AAA publishers and indie developers. Most exciting among the footage ...
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II is being shown off now. A new Alien game from 20th Century Fox game is being revealed. TMNT: Shredder's Revenge is being shown off now. Venom is currently being shown off first-hand. One Piece Odyssey is being shown off now. They're currently showing of The Callisto Protocol through a more "gorey" version of the trailer we saw recently. We're seeing footage of the upcoming JRPG in which the classic crew crashes on a mysterious new island and is trapped there. We're now watching a teaser for a new update to the game. Soul Hackers 2 is being shown off now with its english voice cast. Nightingale is a survival crafting game with intriguing magic systems and procedurally generated realms. It has a story mode of its own and can be played in a unique way, seemingly through multiplayer. Most exciting among the footage was The Last of Us Part 1, Street Fighter 6, and Fort Solis. Personally, my favorite reveal was Routine, a first-person horror game with a soundtrack from the legendary Mick Gordon.
Summer Game Fest 2022 delivered the goods! Here is what was announced, including The Last of Us Remake, Aliens: Dark Descent and Street Fighter 6.
A beta is on the way for it, and the plan is that Stormgate will be free to play when it launches. From the minds of Aaryn Flynn and Inflexion, Nightingale will be a game all about survival. Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course is one of those games that we are itching to play, the first was tough at times but a lot of fun. If you don't believe us then take a look at the gameplay trailer - this could be the game of the year for horror fans so excitement levels are already super high for it. It will have a story, new characters, and some of it will be set in San Francisco, but that's all the information we are due to get on that until 2023. For more from the biggest stars in TV, listen to the Radio Times podcast with Jane Garvey. The original Goat Simulator was fun, hilarious, random, buggy by design, and featured one of the most infuriating mini games we have ever played in Flappy Goat - we can't wait for the sequel/threequel. If you love customisation and you want to get to work on that before Saints Row comes out, well now you can. June 16th, so next week, is when we will be able to play Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge, and we got more details yesterday. How does a new "psychedelic horror chronicle" that is made on the powerful Unreal Engine 5 sound? We have known about Modern Warfare 2 for a while now but any new glimpses of it we can get, we'll take. This will solve that problem by making some substantial changes for this remake - including Last of Us 2 level AI and 60FPS performance.
Here's our recap of all the Summer Game Fest 2022 announcements - including Calisto Protocol, Goat Simulator 3, and Last of Us 1 remake.
The final trailer to wrap up this years Summer Game Fest was the The Last of Us 1 remake trailer. If you love a bit of nostalgia, the Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium reveal trailer was sure to get you excited. It’s not a trailer, but we got confirmation that The Last of Us 2 multiplayer that had been an open secret for ages now will be releasing as a standalone Last of Us multiplayer game. Goat Simulator is a ridiculous sandbox game where you - as a goat - can get up to all manner of mischief, and judging by some of the wild events that take place in this trailer, it looks like we’re getting a similar treatment with the sequel. For those not in the know, this is an XCOM-esque strategy game where players must take control of a collection of Marvel characters - including Blade who is brilliant - and fight off demons and other fantastical nasties. Ths trailer was pure action, not showing any of the RPG or crafting elements we know are in the game, but we’re sure to get even more looks at this anticipated title before it launches October 25 Believe it or not, we saw a reveal trailer for a new RTS game with the Stormgate cinematic trailer. It looks like you’ll be using a little boat to explore around this ruined world with isometric gameplay making up the experience, and is due sometime later this year Another first person shooter was shown off at Summer Game Fest - Witchfire! With a gothic fantasy setting, a good mix of high-calibre ordinance and magical abilities, it’s a fun spin on the popular genre. In it, we see a bunch of new content including some new enemies, environments, and of course a dastardly new antagonist who seems like they aren’t particularly happy with the player characters. Next up, we got some respite from the shock and horror of back-to-back horror titles with some extended gameplay for the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 campaign. The game is set to release in 2023, with no exact release date yet confirmed at this time.
GameCentral recaps all the biggest announcements from Thursday night's Summer Game Fest, including Flashback 2, Saints Row, and Witchfire.
That was pretty cool, as is the fact that this was the second new real-time strategy game of the night, after Aliens: Dark Descent. However, the alarm bells started ringing when it was revealed that it’s a free-to-play game. A big budget survival game from ex-BioWare director Aaryn Flynn, this was first unveiled at The Game Awards but there’s now a bit more gameplay footage to show how it works. Instead of pre-set characters you can now create your own and the game is out relatively soon, on September 13. Traditionally, this sort of slow-paced strategy game doesn’t usually work on any format other than the PC but a number of recent ports, like Crusader Kings 3, have proven anything can be adapted with the right control system. The game was described as a sci-fi thriller and was one of a peculiar number of games openly influenced by Dead Space, although there didn’t necessarily seem to be any horror elements. Although the trailer itself doesn’t do anything other than showcase a few of the characters. It’s yet another game inspired by Dead Space, which is odd considering Dead Space was never that successful and yet suddenly it’s spawned a host of tributes all at the same time. It’s by The Vanishing Of Ethan Carter developer The Astronauts, which explains the good graphics, and is apparently a rogulite as well as a first person shooter. We’re going to be honest, we’ve never heard of this game before, despite all the talk of it having been first announced a decade ago. Capcom has acknowledged the leak of all the characters, new and old, for Street Fighter 6 but they have little option but to go forward with their original plan and unveil them one at a time at various events. We don’t know that for a fact yet though and at least Summer Game Fest was a chance to focus on games that wouldn’t normally get much of the limelight. It’s difficult to tell whether this unexpected new sequel will, as it’s so hard to make out any of the footage, but it seems to be another 2D action adventure.
