I know a lot of people dream about that. The walk is a period of reflection and unity. Copyright 2022 The Arsenal Football Club plc. Having the chance to go to the training ground, and being able to bring a lot of bereaved people and survivors, and volunteers that have done so much for us (the Grenfell survivors) was an amazing experience. Not just to me, but a lot of people affected by Grenfell and the local community. That sort of stuff is life-changing, and it can bring a lot of joy and excitement to someone who might not be in a great mental or physical state. How you (Luke) and Dan were there early in the morning with lots of stuff - anything you could possibly bring - to support the people that were affected. I had a phone call and went down to the Arsenal hub to meet the Community team for the first time, and they told me their stories from the night of the fire. On the 14th of June there is a conscious effort to increase awareness, and to recreate that sense of community which was so important in the immediate aftermath. I would like to take this opportunity to thank Arsenal’s community team for all the hard work they’ve done in supporting myself and a lot of people affected by Grenfell. We live in west London, and a lot of people get the impression that means we would support Chelsea but that’s not the case. It’s five years to the day since the tragedy of the Grenfell Tower fire, which took the lives of 72 people in west London, and affected so many more.

Although they'll fancy their chances on the opening day, they face a tough away trip to Stamford Bridge shortly after, with Chelsea awaiting a visit from their former boss. Arsenal also have a decent end to the season - facing Newcastle, Brighton, Nottingham Forest and Wolves in the run in. These dates are subject to change and many of them will be moved due to their participation in the Europa League. Four of their first six league games pit them against opponents who are expected to struggle this season, including two newly-promoted sides. Due to the World Cup taking place during November and December, the league will have an unprecedented six-week break while the tournament takes place, with a round of fixtures on November 12 and the next one not taking place until Boxing Day. The Magpies are tipped by bookmakers to be the leading challengers to the 'big six', but their credentials will be tested with games against Liverpool and Manchester City before the end of August. Palace can take comfort later in the season with a couple of easier runs - they play the three promoted sides in successive fixtures either side of the World Cup in November and December, before enjoying the same run in the final three games of the campaign. Arsenal made a bad start to the season in 2021-22, losing their opening three games by an aggregate of nine goals to nil, but will expect to fare much better this year - a September trip to Old Trafford is the only one of their first eight fixtures against a team expected to finish in the top six. Manchester City will start the new season as favourites to retain their title for a third successive year, especially given their favourable-looking run at the start of the campaign.

Liverpool supporters will also be looking forward to an early-season match-up away to rivals Manchester United on August 20 before going to Goodison Park to face neighbours Everton in the first Merseyside derby on September 3. Liverpool finish their campaign at Southampton. Season will pause after November 12/13 weekend for World Cup in Qatar and restart on Boxing Day
Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester City all have favourable fixtures to start the new season.
Newcastle could be a force to be reckoned with given their displays in the latter part of last season and the likelihood of new signings to come. Spurs have a mixed start to the season with trips to Chelsea and West Ham in their first five matches, though, which could count against him. It’s a viable strategy, but with so many premium attackers to cram in, the astute play is to sign a couple of £4.5m options and rotate them before settling on a No 1. Perisic played as a wing-back in his last two seasons with Inter, scoring 12 goals and providing 11 assists in 67 appearances and is already well accustomed to Antonio Conte’s methods. Following a disappointing end to last season, Arsenal will be looking to spring out of the blocks and they arguably have the most appealing run of games to kick off 2022-23. The Blues tended to look more fluid with the more mobile Kai Havertz leading the line and assuming Thomas Tuchel has gone off the idea of having a classic No 9 he could become the established centre forward. The Gunners face Crystal Palace (a), Leicester (h), Bournemouth (a), Fulham (h), Aston Villa (h) and Manchester United (a) in their first six, which raises the prospects of their talisman – and new penalty taker? Signing the Premier League’s shiny new toy isn’t always a recipe for FPL success – Timo Werner and Romelu Lukaku serve as cautionary tales from the recent past – but sometimes all logic has to be flung out of the window. Invariably, you will end up with all of the most desirable assets in the game at some point before a ball is even kicked, before narrowing down the long list to a squad of 15 that can get off to a flying start. Going without those that have FPL pedigree and high ownership is a gamble that more often than not will end in a stream of salty tears running down your cheeks. But here are some of the key assets to ponder for your first draft. Last season’s runaway top two both have promising matches in the first chunk of games.
Manchester City will play at West Ham in the final match of an opening weekend of fixtures that takes Liverpool to Fulham.
Pep Guardiola’s side will start their push for a fifth championship in six seasons at the London Stadium at 4.30pm on Sunday 7 August. The Manchester derbies take place on 1 October (at the Etihad) and 14 January, and for a third season in a row Everton host the first Merseyside derby, on 3 September, with the return on 11 February. Arsenal host the first north London derby on 1 October before visiting Tottenham on 14 January. Their three away matches after Champions League group games are Chelsea (17 September), Arsenal (8 October) and Tottenham (5 November).
Former players Quinton Fortune and Ben Thornley deliver their verdict on Erik ten Hag's first set of Manchester United fixtures.
It’s like a cup final [for them].” We’ll have to be really on our guard because Brighton have got players that can spring surprises and they certainly did when we played them there in May.” It should be the same every season. “We are playing at home, [we have] a new manager. “October is going to be absolutely massive, and we need a squad to be able to compete in that.” “It’s a good fixture,” he said.

The Morning Star is unique, as a lone socialist voice in a sea of corporate media. The Manchester derbies take place on October 1 (at the City of Manchester stadium) and January 14 (Old Trafford), while for a third year in a row Everton host the first Merseyside derby of the season on September 3 with the return on February 11. All three promoted sides are away on the final day with Forest at Palace, Bournemouth at Everton — the ground where they were relegated to the Championship in 2020 despite a 3-1 victory — and Fulham travelling to Old Trafford. When the campaign resumes on Boxing Day, Leeds host City and United welcome Forest, with Newcastle fans faced with the longest journey of the day as they have a 376-mile round trip to Leicester. Liverpool and City renew their rivalry at Anfield on October 15 — after a midweek Champions League tie — with the return fixture scheduled for April 1.
