Once Dave Grohl became a father, he could finally indulge all of his influences with the Foo Fighters, including some specific references to children's ...

“There’s something about the sing-song cadence of children’s music that has its place in rock,” Grohl told Entertainment Weekly in 2017. “‘The Pretender’ is a lot like this children’s song, ‘One of These Things Is Not Like the Other’. I remember writing that song and thinking, ‘Man, I think I heard that before.’ And then Chris, our guitar player, he said, ‘Dude, that sounds a lot like that Sesame Street thing.’ And I said, ‘I’ll use it. It wouldn’t be the final time that Grohl made a reference toward kid’s music either. It also had a clear melodic reference in its chorus: ‘One of These Things Is Not Like the Other’ from Sesame Street. ‘Arlandria’ was named after Grohl’s hometown neighbourhood in Virginia where he spent most of his youth. Here was the world’s loudest rock star having to figure out how to change diapers and keep the noise down so that the babies could sleep.

Glastonbury were left emotional after Dave Grohl appeared to reveal a new tattoo in tribute to late Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins.

At one point, Grohl even pointed to the tattoo while Sir Paul was hugging Bruce Springsteen, who also appeared as a special guest during the set. My friend from the west coast of America, Dave Grohl.’ Grohl’s touching tribute to Hawkins left fans emotional, with one tweeting: ‘Dave Grohl pointing to the Taylor Hawkins tribute tattoo on his hand at the end of the #PaulMcCartney set nearly damn finished me off.

Toyah and Robert Fripp Cover Foo Fighters' 'All My Life': Watch (SPIN)

The second is set for Sept. 27 at Los Angeles’ KIA Forum and will include appearances by Alanis Morissette, Miley Cyrus, Joan Jett, Pink, Nancy Wilson, members of Motley Crue, Kiss, Rage Against the Machine, and Red Hot Chili Peppers. Members of Led Zeppelin and Nirvana will be playing both tributes. The first takes place Sept. 3 at London’s Wembley Stadium and will feature members of Queen, Rush, The Police, Queens of the Stone Age, and more. Last night, Dave Grohl made his first public appearance onstage since Taylor Hawkins’ death when he and Bruce Springsteen accompanied Paul McCartney during his headlining Glastonbury set.
