Who Is In The Wimbledon Royal Box Today? (Grazia)

Wimbledon's Royal Box is the most prestigious area to watch the tennis; featuring royals and VIP's - but who is there today?

And lo, the random Wimbledon celebrity generator produced... The Royal Box has 74 seats and you can only get one of them if you are invited by the Chairman of the All England Club, who takes suggestions from The Championships' organising committee. She was joined by Sophie, Countess of Wessex and they were also interacting between sets. However, the prestigious seating area is located between seat blocks 201 and 212, with 301 and 318 behind, so those seats are the try to get if you want to be close to royalty. The chairs have an extra level of padding and comfort than the fold down plastic chairs that regular viewers sit on for hours on end. The Royal box features comfy 'dark green Lloyd Loom wicker chairs', according to the official Wimbledon website. Guests are also automatically invited to the Clubhouse for lunch, tea and drinks at the end of the day. As Wimbledon is now underway, we'll be keeping our eyes peeled to see who will be sat in the Royal Box this year. Well this is awkward now! Who knows, you could find yourself rubbing shoulders with the royal family while you're there - sounds like an ideal day! The invitees have included the likes of David and Victoria Beckham, Chris Hemsworth, Claire Foy, Anna Wintour, Samuel L Jackson and Lewis Hamilton. Although Lewis Hamilton was actually denied entry for not adhering to the Wimbledon dress code - so make sure you're suited and booted! The perks of being a royal in-law: there's always a spot in the royal box with your name on it...

Although she has lived in London, one of her fondest memories is going to see her grandmother in Romania. In 2021 after winning her maiden Grand Slam at the US Open, she was voted the BBC's Sports Personality of the Year. Due to her professional tennis career being in its infancy, Raducanu has enjoyed a meteoric rise up the rankings from 343 in 2020 before her US Open win shot her into the top 20. However, promising American and beaten French Open finalist, Coco Gauff, is the youngest in that section, aged 18. In each of her last two, she could only reach the Second Round. She became the youngest major champion since Maria Sharapova in 2014 and the lowest-ranked player to win a major since 2009 - when Kim Clijsters beat Caroline Wozniacki.

Murray in control when they get into a rally though, as Duckworth dumps a forehand into the net. Duckworth with a little skip as he tries to send a delicate volley over the net, not enough on it. Pressure being put on the Murray serve. Not the second though, slice into the net and Murray has broken back! Couple of Murray shots float wide and it’s an opening hold for Duckworth. Duckworth with a challenge, as the ball lands right on the baseline. He was almost groaning in frustration before the ball left his racket. 15-30. Break here and the Brit will be serving for the set... Well-worked point from Duckworth, forces the error from the Brit. Can only loop it up and Murray’s backhand does the rest. It is extremely unlikely Murray will be in peak condition after so long blighted injuries but, should his body allow, the 35-year-old would appear to have a favourable looking draw ahead. Set point Duckworth. And he takes it!
