Would You Stay at This Nuclear-Powered Flying Hotel? (InsideHook)

The concept for Sky Hotel recently appeared online. It's a flying hotel powered by nuclear engines that rarely touches down.

The Sky Hotel concept taps into something that many an air traveler has felt in recent years: wouldn’t it be nicer if flying was a lot less stressful? And at a time when airships are drawing more enthusiasm, the idea of making one’s way across the skies at a leisurely pace does sound very appealing. That’s the thinking at the heart of Sky Hotel, a concept that recently made an online debut via an eye-catching video created by Hashem Al-Ghaili, working from a concept by Tony Homlsten.

Inside giant flying luxury hotel that can stay in the air for years (New York Post)

A giant nuclear-powered 'flying hotel', complete with a gym and swimming pool is set to carry 5000 passengers in unparalleled luxury.

And, the massive development cost is also another concern. Uneven drag would also like a word on those. While someone else commented “I’m sure I would be able to afford a ticket for the lowest deck with no leg space and no access to the lounge”. And it would be perfect as the Sky Cruise offers a panoramic hall, offering breath-taking 360 degree views of the outside. Despite plans for a man-less ride, the Sky Cruise will still require plenty of staff on board to be at every passengers beck and call. Hashem Alghaili, who created the incredibly detailed mockup of the monster aircraft, says the nuclear-powered sky cruise “could be the future of transport”.

Graphic artist and YouTuber Hashem Al-Ghaili has invented a cruise ship for the clouds, with room for 5,000 passengers, named the 'Sky Cruise Hotel'.

Is it a plane? A naysayer said of the plans: 'Great idea putting a nuclear reactor in something that could malfunction and fall out of the sky' Is it a bird? Another said: 'Great idea putting a nuclear reactor in something that could malfunction and fall out of the sky.' No pilot, no need to refuel and a chance for lucky voyagers to see the Northern Lights up close every single night. Flying hotel that 'never lands' could see 5000 guests take to the ... (Scottish Daily Record)

The ambitious Sky Cruise - which is designed to never land by using 20 engines running on nuclear fusion - has featured in a new video.

While someone else commented “I’m sure I would be able to afford a ticket for the lowest deck with no leg space and no access to the lounge”. I believe it will be fully autonomous." However not everyone agrees, with some commenters describing the Sky Cruise concept as the “new Titanic” - pointing out that having lifts on the outside of the aircraft would be far from aerodynamic and that if an aircraft powered by a nuclear reactor crashed, it could destroy a city.

The 'Sky Cruise hotel' is built to have 20 nuclear-powered engines and would have the capacity to carry 5,000 passengers.

In the video rendering of the plane, posted by Al-Ghaili on YouTube titled ‘Sky Cruise: A Futuristic Hotel Above the Clouds’, the monster ship is described as ‘the perfect wedding venue’. The hotel in the sky would still have staff manning a shopping mall onboard, pools, gyms and cinemas.
