A promising start but a long way to go. The Brazilian eventually did score his second Gunners goal in the 75th minute. But the day was all about Jesus who could have had his second goal in the 58th minute. After playing a neat one two with his team mate, he lashed in a beautiful finish at the near post into the roof of the net. — 14 (@mohdars14)— 14 (@mohdars14) pic.twitter.com/65WE1GKIcY July 8, 2022 Seven minutes later Arsenal drew level after Mohamed Elneny scored a beautiful long range shot from almost 25 yards out.

The Arsenal youth products look as though they need a fresh start at a new club in order to really push on. That will hopefully be a sign of things to come from the Brazilian striker. The German side did get a goal back through Lukas Schleimer, but Arsenal held on for victory. Mohamed Elneny also found the net with a superb strike, while Nuremberg scored two own goals. As is usually the case in pre-season fixtures, the team that started the game for Arsenal was rather cobbled together and contained a host of players who may not be at the club when the transfer window closes. Pablo Mari is one of the players who featured who is unlikely to start the season at Arsenal

Gabriel Jesus scored twice on his Arsenal debut as the Gunners came back from 2-0 down at half-time to beat Nurnberg 5-3 in a pre-season friendly on Friday ...

He was a constant thorn in the Nurnberg defence’s side during the second half. Couldn’t really get into the game after his arrival in the second half. Excellent on the ball and played a part in the fifth goal. His presence in midfield immediately settled Arsenal down after a poor first half. Scored an outrageous goal to make it 2-2 in the second half. Came on for Turner in the second half. Came alive in the second half following the arrival of Jesus and Martinelli. Linked up really well with Jesus, was unlucky not to score with his shot that hit the bar. Looked lively when he got on the ball, but that was all too rare during a poor first half from the Gunners. Sent one shot over the top just before half-time when well placed. Gave the ball away sloppily in the build up to Nurnberg’s second goal. Back in action for the first time since March. Looked understandably rusty and his error in possession led to the opening goal. Got involved in a bit of a physical battle during the first half and came off second best. It was a great strike from Johannes Geis, but it went straight down the middle of Turner’s goal.

Gabriel Jesus scores after 85 seconds with two goals on Arsenal debut (Metro)

Gabriel Jesus took just 85 seconds to score his first Arsenal goal as he bagged a brace on his debut in a pre-season win over FC Nurnberg.

Kieran Tierney was subbed off after just half-an-hour, initially worrying fans that the left-back was injured again, but it seems that it was in fact a planned substitution as the Scotland international works his way back to full fitness. Nurnberg pulled one back in the 73rd minute to set up a tense finale, but just moments later Jesus neatly flicked in his second from a Gabriel Martinelli cross.
