Dementia is a general term used by medical professionals to describe the symptoms that occur when there is a loss of brain function. But according to those closest to him, Connery had also been struggling with dementia for the two years leading up to his death. In February this year, Roquebrune donated $1 million to a global dementia charity set up by Sean’s close friend Sir Jackie Stewart.
