Liverpool 'negotiating' for £68m Brazilian as Jürgen Klopp faces ... (Liverpool.com)

Media Digest: Liverpool are reportedly in talks with Ajax over a transfer worth £68m while Jürgen Klopp is a keen admirer of a midfielder that Real Madrid ...

Credible, incredible and anything in between: we round it all up in one place here, taking a sideways look at the day’s media goings-on from around the world. According to Yahoo Sport in Brazil (via Sport Witness), Liverpool have been talking to both Ajax and the player and he could make a move this summer, despite Jürgen Klopp having insisted several times that the Reds' business is over. Jürgen Klopp admitted earlier in the week that Bellingham was a player he liked, ruling out a move this summer only because the England midfielder is not on the market.

Liverpool take on Crystal Palace in their second game of the pre-season tour in Asia. Jürgen Klopp has decisions to make including where to playFábio ...

It is possible, for instance, that Jordan Henderson, James Milner and the others who were in pre-season training from day one could stretch to 45 minutes in this game. Curtis Jones was on international duty over the summer but was also a part of this second team. Klopp has a decision on where to play both or could even test out a 4-2-3-1 variation. Alisson Becker is a doubt for the match, too. He suffered a slight injury in the warm-up for training earlier in the week. Making an attempt to predict the Liverpool line-up for a pre-season friendly is no easy task.

Liverpool could still move 5 players elsewhere before the season ... (Rousing the Kop)

Liverpool have been busy in the summer transfer window. We've seen three players arrive – Darwin Nunez, Fabio Carvalho and Calvin Ramsay – while Mohamed Salah, ...

So this one is a real ‘maybe’. Oxlade-Chamberlain certainly has a role to play in the squad next season, should no offer arrive. That surely opens to door to sale this summer and the right offer would be seriously tempting. He’s got the talent to perform at a great level but his next move will be key for his career. We imagine Oxlade-Chamberlain will stay with Liverpool but his contract expires in a year’s time. Everyone at Anfield knows that Phillips is a very good player and one who can deliver for the first-team. Phillips would be the obvious sale if Liverpool wanted to secure more income this summer.

Liverpool City Bike scheme to be replaced by Voi amid £300k ... (Liverpool Echo)

Swedish company behind popular e-scooter trials in city will step in to replace failing bike scheme.

Remarkably, the number of pedal bikes has reduced from the initial 1,000 to 40 due to vandalism and theft. The existing council contract with Voi contains the option to extend it to include e-bikes as well. It is estimated that the city council unbudgeted subsidy needed to sustain this scheme between 2017 and now has been around £1.3m." City Bike began in 2014 with £2m from the Sustainable Transport Fund. There were 1,000 bikes and 150 docking stations installed around the city. But costs have continued to rise, due in part to ageing bikes needing maintenance and new parts. The scheme allows people to rent bikes from specific locations around the city using an app.

Liverpool transfer news LIVE - Alexander Isak wanted (Liverpool Echo)

Liverpool transfer news, rumours, gossip and speculation including updates on Antony, Alexander Isak and Serge Gnabry.

He’s not looking for the top corner or a lob, he’s trying to score and that is important to have a player with that determination and conviction that he can become one of Jurgen Klopp’s first XI. He’s showing me in training that he wants to be in that XI.” It has been claimed that while United have been deemed favourites to sign the Brazilian, Liverpool are now in talks. The objective is to be ready for the first game of the season.” Darwin Nunez, Fabio Carvalho and Calvin Ramsay have all been signed, and if a fresh report is to go by then more could be on the way. Despite these links claiming Liverpool’s interest in Antony, it’s thought that the Reds are done and dusted with their incoming transfer business this summer. It comes after they went down to a 4-0 defeat to Manchester United in Thailand on Tuesday. Former Manchester United defender Ferdinand has leapt to the defence of Sterling, who he says has been “ridiculed” and “questioned” by Liverpool fans since his exit in 2015. Garcia said: “I love him to be honest, ever since he arrived in the first team you could see that he’s there with a lot of hunger. From a team point of view, he made the right decision 100 per cent going to Man City when he did." Sterling has now left Man City to sign for Chelsea in a deal potentially worth up to £55m, with the London club paying an initial £45m up front. Istanbul hero Garcia, who now does punditry work for LFC TV, spotted the goalscoring exploits of Harvey Elliott during an open training session in Singapore this week. "You know what it does my head in when there’s a split opinion about him and I don’t understand it.
