Fifa 23 to add women's club football for first time (The Guardian)

At launch, only two leagues will be included – the FA Women's Super League and the French Division 1 Féminine – but more are planned.

Fifa will now be extending its video game licence to a range of different game makers. It has confirmed that female players have been motion captured to ensure authentic animation, and that the women’s matches will benefit from the game’s new Hypermotion 2 technology which applies machine learning to motion captured data to create new, realistic player movements on the fly. At launch, only two leagues will be included: the FA Women’s Super League and the French Division 1 Féminine. However, EA says it plans to expand the roster in future.

FIFA 23: Cross-play, women's football and a revamped FUT all set ... (FourFourTwo)

FIFA 23 drops this autumn and with new features and innovations, the new instalment of the franchise is set to be the biggest yet.

Mark White has been a staff writer on FourFourTwo since joining in January 2020, writing pieces for both online and the magazine. There's a new risk-versus-reward shooting mechanic that we can't wait to be awful at, plus refreshed set-pieces and more realistic physics. For the first time in FIFA history, women's club football is playable. More information will follow in the build-up to each tournament, according to EA. The World Cup kicks off in Qatar in November, ahead of the game's release – so play it right away with the all-new mode for the competition, featuring all 32 qualified teams. With HyperMotion being such a big feature for last year's game, HyperMotion2 is set to take FIFA 23 by storm.

FIFA 23 gameplay trailer live now - release date + crossplay confirmed (Metro)

EA has laid out everything fans will want to know about FIFA 23, and it sounds like a massive swansong for the series.

This time, it will be available across all versions, even the PC and Stadia releases, although it’s restricted to platforms within the same generation. For any Nintendo Switch owners wondering, a FIFA 23 Legacy Edition has been announced too. However, while it will be getting the women’s teams, new stadiums, and an updated presentation, it won’t offer any new gameplay features or improvements compared to the Switch version of FIFA 22. Another important detail is that FIFA 23 will have crossplay functionality at launch. It seems EA is really pulling out all the stops to make FIFA 23 the most memorable entry yet, despite losing the FIFA moniker for 2024 and beyond. The first gameplay trailer for FIFA 23 has gone live, confirming its release date of September 30 ( as was claimed earlier), and thus EA has shared the first real details about what will be its final FIFA game before it changes the name.

FIFA 23's release date is confirmed – here's everything we know (The Independent)

After EA ended its partnership with FIFA, their next football game will be the last in the 30-year-old franchise. Here's everything we know about FIFA 23.

After all, FIFA is one of the most popular gaming franchises around the globe and people are still struggling to get their hands on a PS5 or an Xbox series X, it would seem unlikely that last-gen users would be left behind. Don’t expect much in the way of innovation if EA Sports decide to go the same route with FIFA 23. EA Sports has assured fans that existing licensing deals and partnerships with some of the world’s biggest football clubs will remain in place, and there are hundreds of them. Other popular titles such as Call of Duty have adopted a similar model, with Warzone being a free-to-play battle royale mode for the game, as well as Halo Infinite, where online multiplayer is free. Konami’s recently relaunched eFootball series has been hot on FIFA’s heels since it adopted the free-to-play model, so there is a chance that we could see it happen with EA’s series. Ever since the news that EA Sports has ended its relationship with FIFA, what is most uncertain is what direction the series will go in next.
