The drama, which is written by first-time screenwriter Jacqui Honess-Martin, will weave all three doctor’s stories together on their return to work for the first time since Covid-19 hit and how everything has changed. Parminder, who was born and raised in the city and attended Soar Valley College, will take on the role of Dr Maryam Afridi for ITV’s new six-part medical drama, Maternal, which will hit screens next year. Leicester’s Parminder Nagra is to take on one of the lead roles in a new ITV drama.
