Amazon's 20 live Premier League games will return in the 2022/23 season. Summer signing Marcao is expected to be fine to feature here after building up his fitness, along with Karim Rekik and Marcos Acuna who were withdrawn for tactical reasons in midweek. BT Sport hold the rights to 52 live Premier League games. They also own rights to the Carabao Cup and several international matches. However, Kieran Tierney and Takehiro Tomiyasu are both still doubts for the Premier League opener and are unlikely to be risked here, along with summer signing Gabriel Jesus who was taken off against Chelsea on Sunday, meaning Eddie Nketiah could lead the line. The Gunners, however, were crowned tournament champions on goals scored.

“You have seen some movement in the last few days as well. Shellshocked Sevilla, far behind Arsenal in their pre-season preparations, were dealt more misery when Jesus completed a hat-trick on his home debut late on after Gabriel’s effort was cleared off the line. “The connection is already there. Whether we accomplish that or not is another story.” It was left to substitute Eddie Nketiah to complete the drubbing two minutes from time after being unselfishly set up by Martinelli, with in-form Arsenal laying down a marker ahead of their Premier League opener at Crystal Palace on Friday night. “[Jesus] plays with that intensity to win the ball and play in the opposition half.

Arsenal have named Martin Odegaard as their new club captain as Mikel Arteta overhauls the Gunners' leadership group for the 2022-23 Premier League season.

But that was ripped apart when Aubameyang was stripped of the captaincy and then Lacazette’s departure. We have to use that in a good way. I think about the future, and to make that as good as possible, so we’ll see what happens. Earlier this summer, he told journalists in a clear message to Arteta that he would be happy to succeed Aubameyang. However, Lacazette departed the Emirates this summer and has returned to Lyon on a free transfer. How Arsenal got on in the first half of their Emirates Cup pre-season friendly clash against Sevilla at the Emirates Stadium.

Gabriel Jesus: A bit of a surprise that he did not take the penalty. Bukayo Saka: Won the penalty from which he scored and made no mistake when the ball was presented to him from close range to double his tally. Ben White: Was a bit sloppy in possession at times, lost the ball in a dangerous area shortly after Arsenal had taken the lead and would have been relieved to see it lead to nothing.

Arsenal 6-0 Sevilla: Five things we learned as Gabriel Jesus hat ... (Daily Express)

ARSENAL stepped up their preparation for the competitive season by thrashing Sevilla on Saturday. · All or Nothing Arsenal: Mikel Arteta delivers dressing room ...

The 23-year-old skipper will lead the young Gunners into the new season with 18 months of experience under Arteta in the bank, and early signs show that he will have no problem handling the added responsibility. Sometimes an orthodox left-back, others a left wing-back and occasionally drifting into central areas, Zinchenko should have no trouble adjusting to Arteta's complex demands both in and out of possession. Marquee summer signing Gabriel Jesus gave those in attendance a real treat by netting his first goals at the Emirates in an Arsenal shirt. While experienced campaigners like Xhaka were still vocal throughout, the Norwegian was able to lead by example and put on an accomplished display. Arsenal hammered Sevilla 6-0 at the Emirates on Saturday to continue a promising run of pre-season form in front of their own fans. Putting a behind-closed-doors defeat against Brentford at London Colney to one side, Arsenal fans have had plenty of positive signs to stew over in recent weeks.

In hindsight, it looks to have been a masterstoke with the France international appearing totally ready to cement his place at the heart of Arsenal’s defence. With Kieran Tierney’s comeback date still unknown, Zinchenko is likely to begin his Arsenal career in the role he filled regularly for City at left-back but that will do little to dampen his impact. The Ukraine international’s versatility hampered his progress at Manchester City, but at Arsenal the ability to play in both midfield and at left-back is likely to ensure he is rarely, if ever, out of the starting XI.

He gives us a different option to play within the role in different spaces, and I’m really happy to have him. He’s a perfectionist and a really demanding boy, I know him so well, and after that he brings qualities that we didn’t have in the squad. He’s used to winning - winning is the only thing and winning in the right way. He’s also the captain of his national team and I think it was the right call, and I’m proud to announce that because I think he’s a really good person to deliver that commitment to the club. Obviously, we have recruited Oleks in that position and we have Kieran as well, which is two really strong players in that position, and we believe that Nuno’s best solution was to do that. You cannot do that if players at the front are walking, they are not tracking, they don't have that instinct and that intention to provoke things that we want and Gabby is phenomenal at that. Now we are using him as a nine, he can play as a winger, off the left and the right. You can see the way they look for him on the pitch, on and off the ball, and what he's able to transmit as well on that pitch so I am really happy. We prepared to play against a team that has been very, very successful in the last few years, that has a huge European experience and we wanted a different test. The moment we give it away it's about how the team reacts, how compact we are, how willing we are when that press is beaten to get back and be compact again. ARSENAL are set to save themselves millions on the transfer market following the performances of one player in pre-season.

We will keep developing him, he has a huge potential, he is already a top player and we have to make him even better." If Saliba was not up to the task when he returned this summer, an exit would have probably been likely. The fans have been desperate for him to be given a chance and he is now grabbing it with both hands. He isn't the finished product - no defenders are at his age. The last two friendlies, against Chelsea and Sevilla, have seen the £50m Ben White play at right-back, with Saliba partnering Gabriel Magalhaes in the middle of defence. His loan spells at Saint-Etienne, Nice and Marseille mean he has not even appeared in a match-day squad.

This campaign is set to be a big one for the Spaniard and results will be expected. He already has five-and-half years of Premier League experience behind him and is now set to enter the prime of his career. Martin Odegaard, who is officially the new Arsenal captain, seems to have already built up a relationship with Jesus. Like Wright used to have, Jesus has the pace, tight control and clinical nature in front of goal that Arsenal have been missing. Arsenal look better than ever under Mikel Arteta and that is in no small part down to the arrival of Gabriel Jesus this summer. And that is what Arteta has signed, a goalscorer.

Arsenal Player Ratings Against Sevilla (SPORTbible)

The Gunners started the game on fire and found themselves 4-0 up in just 18 minutes. The goals came in a 9-minute spell, as both Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Jesus ...

Jesus will undoubtably be the key man for Arsenal this year and a huge threat to defenders every time he puts on Arsenal colours. He also set up the 6th and final goal, with his ace to get in behind and one on one with the keeper, but unselfishly squared it to Nketiah for him to tap home. Three goals and the man of the match award in his first game at the Emirates, Jesus showed us exactly why he was bought at the start of the window. Eddie came on in the 79th minute, and it took just 9 minutes to score the 6th and final goal with an easy tap into an open net. The Arsenal number 9 moved out onto the left often and was key in the build-up play to many chances. His cross for the 3rd goal was perfectly executed, and his runs in behind was causing headaches for Sevilla defenders. He won and scored the penalty in the opening minutes, and then Arsenal’s high press allowed him to finish off the goalkeeper’s mistake to make it 4 in just 18 minutes. The Swiss midfielder showed a different side to his game today, making deep runs into the box and causing a threat to the Sevilla defence. He played in a very high role, almost as a midfielder when Arsenal had the ball, and played some lovely passes forward. However, he showed his ability to come forward dangerously and join in with the attacks, like Zinchenko. He didn’t have much to do throughout the game, but his distribution was key and commanded his box well. For the rest of the half, Arsenal was comfortable and kept the score at 4-0.

Premier League 2022-23 fan previews, part one: Arsenal to Leeds (The Guardian)

Fans have their say on key players, wonderkids and weak links – and make predictions for the season ahead.

Two players from the past who would slot right in The ever-dependable Aaron Hughes for his clever reading of the game and general tidying up. Best and worst away trips I have a soft spot for old grounds - Everton is one of the best: tight with great volume. The marquee signing of João Palhinha looks a masterstroke, and Manor Solomon’s pace and trickery should be a perfect fit. Lampard having a full pre-season is a positive, but this is a team with a questionable defence (especially from dead balls), a lack of creativity, and where are the goals coming from? This is the start of a new era with new owners and a new approach – it’ll hopefully lift us after the impact of the sanctions last season. We still need a replacement for Lukaku, though, and our home form has to improve: we need to get back to the fortress Stamford Bridge used to be. Two players from the past who would slot right in Hermann Hreidarsson for passion and solidity. And Saïd Benrahma, if managed well, is a genius who can pull a rabbit out of the hat. Key players/weak links David Raya is a brilliant sweeper-keeper, Christian Nørgaard is critical in the Brentford machine and Aaron Hickey is the full-back we’ve been looking for since Henrik Dalsgaard left for Denmark two seasons ago: a quality defender who can play on the left or the right, is good with his feet and can pick a pass. And we have a good balance: players with top-flight experience and points to prove, and some emerging talents. It’s a big three months for Steven Gerrard: we have a relatively easy start and if we’re 15th in October the natives might just get a bit restless. A bit “meh” actually: the two early high-profile signings were good statements and we seem to have two decent players for every position.
