Sheffield United v Millwall: Khadra starts as Heckingbottom makes ... (Sheffield United News)

It's back to Beautiful Downtown Bramall Lane for Sheffield United fans today, as Millwall become the first visitors to S2 this season.

New signing James McAtee might hope to be involved but having only been at Shirecliffe a few days, it could be a risky move for Heckingbottom to throw him straight into the action. Jack Robinson, Enda Stevens and Adam Davies are expected to miss weeks of action, while the likes of Oli McBurnie and Billy Sharp are fighting their way back to fitness and might be involved off the bench. However, this is a different Blades side than that day under Jokanovic and Paul Heckingbottom will want to get off to a winning start in front of the home supporters.

Sheffield United vs Millwall confirmed teams as Anel Ahmedhodzic ... (Yorkshire Live)

Sheffield United entertain Millwall in their first home game of the season keen to bounce back from their opening day loss at Watford on Monday.

United have won just two of the last 11 league encounters but manager Paul Heckingbottom wants that to change. Gary Rowett's men arrive having kicked off with a 2-0 success over Stoke and hoping to repeat what happened last season. United opened the last campaign without a win in their opening five matches and having seen how well they finished the season, securing a fifth-placed spot and a shot at the play-offs, he has emphasised the need to make sure they don't suffer a repeat of that slow start.

3 things to watch out for in Sheffield United v Millwall on Saturday (Football League World)

For the Blades, they came away from the fixture with nothing, as Joao Pedro fired in a goal to give Watford the three points in their opening game. Sheffield ...

With Sheffield United losing in their last game against Watford and neither of Iliman Ndiaye or Daniel Jebbison doing much in front of the Hornets’ goal, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see two new strikers played in this fixture. That’s a rate of just 23% when it comes to draws and it means that both teams tend to go for it in this fixture. Both Championship clubs got off to completely different starts in their campaigns at the weekend, with one losing and the other sealing a first three points of the season.

Report and free match highlights from the Sky Bet Championship clash between Sheffield United and Millwall at Bramall Lane as goals from Iliman Ndiaye and ...

The second goal is our own undoing; we don't react particularly well, and we make a poor mistake. When you play so well against Stoke in the opening game at home, then come to Bramall Lane, what you can't do then is make silly mistakes, you cant give gifts to a team like Sheffield United. I thought we actually started the game quite well, I thought we started quite brightly and then a big moment early on to go 1-0 down. I have watched the goal back lots of times and it was a clear foul on Jake Cooper. "I expect us to perform well here and be the one forcing the issue. The start was good, but I think the bit that was really really pleasing was how we dealt with their threats. He did not connect well with the ball, though, and also missed the target.

He did not connect well with the ball, though, and also missed the target. The Blades resumed their attack on the Millwall goal in the second half and Ahmedhodzic tried his luck from the edge of the area only to see his shot curl wide of the post. Fleck had a chance of his own when the ball arrived to him quickly in the box, but he could not set himself and his shot went over the bar.

REPORT: Sheffield United 2-0 Millwall - newsatden.co.uk (News At Den)

The Blades made Rowett's men pay very early on in the game, when Iliman Ndiaye shrugged off Murray Wallace to score from a Wes Foderingham goal kick. The Lions ...

While the tempo was incredibly low to begin with, Millwall started to create some chances and force Foderingham into a couple of saves, albeit all of them incredibly comfortable. The Lions kept pushing but failed to find a way past Sheffield United’s back line. While Sheffield United started to slow the tempo down, it looked like things would go from bad to worse for Cooper after he was involved in both first-half goals from the visitors. Wallace had the chance to close him down, but ended up being shrugged off the ball by the Blades forward, who cooly slotted past Białkowski for the opener. Paul Heckingbottom’s side countered from a Millwall free-kick, allowing Fleck to rob Cooper of the ball and set up Sander Berge for the second goal. Cooper and Charlie Cresswell both challenged for the ball, but ended up missing it, allowing Ndiaye to run in and steal it off them.

Sheffield United player ratings: Sander Berge class, Ndiaye and ... (Yorkshire Live)

Wes Foderingham 6 : A spectator for much of the match and had little to do but gets credit for his assist on the opening goal.

Guilty of a couple of misplaced passes and robbed of possession in the second half. Sander Berge 9: Great composure for the goal, taking the ball in his stride and rounding the keeper. Did get beat on one occasion and conceded a free-kick in a dangerous position but came to the rescue when Mason Bennett was clean through and produced a last-ditch tackle. Understandably looked more comfortable on the left than he did at Watford on the right. Also showed his ability in the air in defensive situations when clearing a corner. Very comfortable bringing the ball out from the back, striding forward and looking for a pass.

The difference is that it’s a lot easier to respond bravely at 2-0 down than it is at 0-0. We should defend it better, we should come around and shouldn’t allow the next runner to get in. It’s a clear foul on Jake Cooper, I think it’s Ndiaye that gets the wrong side of him and gives him a little nudge. Then the big moment is early is early on to go 1-0 down, if I look at it, I’ve watched the goal back lots of times.

Sheffield United: Kevin Gage lauds Anel Ahmedhodzic after Blades ... (Sheffield United News)

SUTV pundit and former Blade, Kevin Gage, has been piling the praise on new signing Anel Ahmedhodzic, following United's win over Millwall.

Indeed, following the game, Kevin Gage felt the United new man looked like he’d been with the club for years. And one of the big plus-points was seeing new signing Ahmedhodzic make his debut for the club. It could have been more, too, as Oli Norwood missed a penalty just before half-time.

Sheffield United forward Iliman Ndiaye has been singing the praises of new signing Anel Ahmedhodzic, after the Blades saw off Millwall.

However, while Ndiaye might have been the star of the show in the final third, there were some other good performances on display from those in red and white. Ahmedhodzic looked, at times, a class above. “I really like him.
