Realistically, only one of that trio may be sold with Leicester having ambitions to challenge for a return to European football, but the East Midlands outfit are no more than outsiders to achieve that target. Josh Dasilva snatches late point for Brentford at Leicester City (The Guardian)

Josh Dasilva scored a late equaliser for Brentford in a 2-2 Premier League draw against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium.

“Coming back from 2-0 down to 2-2 is a massive moment. But Brentford kept believing and Frank finished the happier manager. They may not have made any signings but Rodgers did a fine job of fielding a new shape after losing Harvey Barnes and Ricardo Pereira to injury last week. Tielemans shot against a post before Leicester converted their territorial dominance into a two-goal lead 25 seconds into the second half. “If you’re chasing the game, it’s on you to try and change it.” Leicester, seemingly cruising to victory with goals from Timothy Castagne and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall just reward for their excellent first hour, dropped off in the East Midlands heat but made only one change.

Leicester City player ratings v Brentford: Danny Ward up to task but ... (Leicestershire Live)

How we scored the Leicester City players as Timothy Castagne and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall scored in a promising start before Ivan Toney and Josh Dasilva ...

Jamie Vardy: His touch was not sharp enough and his runs not quite subtle enough to escape the attention of the Brentford defenders. James Maddison: He wanted the ball and his team-mates looked to give it to him at every opportunity. Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall: Possibly because the midfield was more congested, he was as involved as usual, but when he was, he combined well with Maddison and was the only man looking for Vardy’s runs. Defensively, he was really solid in the first half, but lost a few battles in the second. But he was quick into the tackle and carried the ball out well when space allowed. His passes were a little under-hit early on, while he got caught out with a ball over the top in the first half and gave the ball away for a good Brentford chance too.

Match Report: Leicester City 2 - 2 Brentford (Fosse Posse)

The Foxes led 2-0 through a first-half goal from Timothy Castagne and a second-half strike by Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall. Ivan Toney drew one back for the visitors ...

Amartey failed to close down Josh Dasilva on the edge of the area, allowing the substitute to curl a shot past the stranded Ward and secure the draw for the visitors. For a full hour, the Foxes looked like they would coast to an easy victory. If the intent was to slow the match down and prevent Brentford from getting back into the match, it didn’t work. Things were ever so comfortable for Leicester for the first quarter-hour of the second half when, out of nothing, Brentford got one back. The Shepshed Pirlo unleashed an unstoppable drive into the corner of the net to double the City advantage. On 33’, the Foxes opened the scoring in exactly the fashion one would have anticipated: A corner from Maddison found Castagne’s near-post run.

Bees Breakdown – Leicester City v Brentford Analysis | Beesotted (Beesotted)

Thomas Frank's man management was the difference in the Bee's first match. Only giving up goals from defencive errors, the squad kept their composure to fight ...

The formation going forward changed at this point to a 3-4-3 with Hickey staying back as a center half while Mbeumo and Henry pushed forward on the wings. Coming on in the 59th minute Dasilva provided the creativity needed in the midfield. In the first half Brentford resorted to playing wide, but struggled to generate any chances with only 1 accurate cross the entire match. Brentford did not seem bothered by this lapse in concentration however, and started controlling the ball more while being further up the pitch. This compact system allowed Leicester to find spaces in wide areas and were able to play many crosses into the box from these areas. Thomas Frank’s man management was the difference in the Bee’s first match.
