Dexys will join UB40, Jorja Smith, Mahalia, Goldie, The Selector and more on stage at the Commonwealth Games closing ceremony.

He said: "The idea and sound was his; I stole it from him, hurting Kevin Archer deeply in the process. Furthermore, despite originally claiming Eileen was his teenage girlfriend, Kevin Rowland admitted that Eileen had never existed, blaming artistic license, and the song instead signified Catholic repression. The song was originally credited to Kevin Rowland, and it wasnโ€™t until more than 10 years later that the truth was finally revealed. But it was just a year before the band started chopping and changing, and by 1982 only Kevin Rowland remained from the original lineup. Rowland went through a difficult period of cocaine addiction which started as a way to fight his insecurities. Dexys Midnight Runners are most famed for Brit-winning Come On Eileen but the Birmingham band have a much richer back story than you may imagine.
