Boro started really well and Barnsley looked a little overwhelmed by it early on, but they've settled and are trying to just slow the tempo down. With Cole in the middle he looks to fire low across the box but Roberts does very well to dive down and hold onto it. Ball in behind on the right for Marsh to run onto. The young central midfielder is seeing plenty of the ball and is using it really well. Bright start before Barnsley settled and had their own little spell around the half hour mark, with Roberts making a couple of good stops. Dodds pulls it back for Fletcher. he takes too long to get a shot off but can cross after retreaving the clocked effort.

Finch will make his first Boro start in attack, partnering Duncan Watmore, with Marcus Forss and Chuba Akpom both named on the substitutes' bench. Boro will start with an inexperienced midfield, with Hayden Hackney, Joe Gibson and Caolan Boyd-Munce set to play in the central area. Roberts replaces Zack Steffen in goal, and will make his first competitive Boro appearance following his summer move from Northampton.
