Jesse Lingard set for rough West Ham reception after snubbing ... (Evening Standard)

Monopoly sets will be raided across east London tomorrow, as West Ham fans prepare to travel to Nottingham for a reunion with Jesse Lingard.

There were reports of eye-watering sums involved in a free transfer that was anything but, the exact figures a matter of semantics: excluding, including, add-ons, clauses, bonuses, post-tax, pre-tax. Forest offered a bit more. Inside the club, there is frustration at how long the saga dragged on, the Irons having made attempts to sign a player adored by Moyes in each of the windows since he scored nine goals and registered four assists in the back half of the 2020-21 season.

Troy Deeney: Lingard played a blinder with lucrative Forest deal ... (The Sun)

JESSE LINGARD is a good friend of mine. I know him really well.I have seen the criticism he has faced for his decision to join Nottingham Forest over.

I know Conte came out last season and pointed the finger, perhaps more at the board, but all he was saying was: ‘I will leave if we don’t improve the squad’. The Tottenham squad will have accepted that Conte is a natural, serial winner. He was a free agent. If anything, they think you should work with you more, they want to be more invested in what we are doing, look at more details and be more prepared. He is a big boy now and he can do what he wants and will always do what he wants. It is OK for fans to mock a player regarding the money he is on, but the player is supposed to have the moral high ground because he earns a certain amount?
