Sheffield United will allow both Will Osula and Kyron Gordon to leave the club on loan this week, according to reports.
But these young players need maximising and sending them out on loan is the ideal step for all involved. For Osula in particular, a move to Burton is tried and tested by the club following Daniel Jebbison’s successful spell there last term. Gordon needs to build on last season’s game time at the club while Osula has shown glimpses but could also do with getting regular action.
Luton Town locked horns with Sheffield United under the Kenilworth Road lights for the sixth game of the EFL Championship season.
A ball was whipped in and it was flicked on by John Egan to Oli McBurnie who’s volley found the back of the net in style. It only took ten minutes for a goal to come, and it was for the home side! George Baldock and James McAtee were both booked within the first twenty-five minutes.

Unfortunately, it would take over £20m to lure him away from tonight’s opponents and I’m not sure the EFL would be too pleased if we pursued a deal for him in the coming days. But a lot of credit has to be given to the players for a superb performance - and the fact we could’ve scored three on the afternoon makes the victory even more pleasing. There’s one change in the back five with Junior Hoilett coming in for Tom McIntyre. Ideally, a more attack-minded midfielder would have been ideal if we’re to persist with our current formation but I certainly won’t say no to someone of the Australian’s quality and experience. The Blades are currently in very good shape and you can’t help but feel jealous of the squad they have at their disposal. Consistency will be key to our success or downfall this term though and this is why I’m remaining reasonably calm at this stage.

Scott Dann is thought to be the next to make it into a matchday squad, although unlikely to be at Bramall Lane. Slowly returning back to a squad with depth, wing-back Nesta Guinness-Walker returned to the squad on Saturday after a spell on the sidelines. Beating Millwall 1-0 on Saturday, the Royals' first away win of the season and a first win at the Den since 2014, the idea of heading to Bramall Lane to face second-place Blades is slightly less daunting.
Sheffield United go top of the Sky Bet Championship, leapfrogging previous leaders Reading with a 4-0 victory at Bramall Lane.
Burnley had looked set to move second thanks to Brazilian defender Vitinho's close-range header in the 62nd minute and Jay Rodriguez stabbing home the second 10 minutes later in a 2-0 win over Millwall. Oli McBurnie opened the scoring with a header from Max Lowe's superb cross after 11 minutes and Anel Ahmedhodzic volleyed home from a corner just seconds into the second period. Sheffield United moved top of the Sky Bet Championship in commanding fashion with a 4-0 win over former leaders Reading.
Reading are toppled 4-0 defeat at Bramall Lane with Anel Ahmedhodzic scoring twice, while Tony Mowbray is announced as the new manager of Sunderland.
Rodrigo Muniz gave the visitors the lead after just four minutes of his full debut, only for Ismaïla Sarr to equalise and Vakoun Bayo to fire home the winner in added time. Iliman Ndiaye put the result beyond doubt shortly after the hour mark and Ahmedhodzic completed the rout with a glancing header 10 minutes from time. Sheffield United moved top of the Championship in commanding fashion with a 4-0 win over former leaders Reading.
Sheffield United returned to the top of the Championship in some style tonight as they hammered previous leaders Reading 4-0 at Bramall Lane.
Came back into the side at Basham's expense and doubled United's lead in the second half with a true striker's finish, volleying home Doyle's corner in front of the Kop. Recovered after that in fairness and the visitors didn't have much more of a sniff No use in betting, games or single club/league/player publications.

"I'm always going to ask (the board for more funds) because I know how hard we've worked to get the players and how hard the players are working. "I'm just happy with the goal," he said of McBurnie. That shows in my eyes how rewarding it can be to put the effort in. "It's so unrelenting, the schedule, it's impossible for 11 to do it. "It was great to take Iliman (Ndiaye) and Oli off when they started flagging a little bit and inject energy with Reda (Khadra) and Rhian (Brewster). "From start to finish it was pretty dominant," he enthused.
Traumatic does not do justice to Oli McBurnie's struggles over the past two years, but a new season has breathed new life into the striker.
Sheffield United sealed a stunning 4-0 win over Reading to take top spot in the Championship - In a blistering start to the game Oli McBurnie scored with 11 minutes on the clock - Sheffield United thrash Reading 4-0 to steal top spot in the Championship table
The Blades entertain the Royals in a top-of-the-table clash this evening.
The defender races clear picks out Berge who then selflessly spots Ndiaye to his right. Sander Berge's ball into the area is left by McBurnie for the run of Ndiaye and he also produces a second dummy for a third runner in Doyle and he is inches away from getting to it and having a shot but it's poked away A wonderful cross from the midfielder, right on the sweet spot for the defender to get a glancing header into the bottom corner

Paul Hall has named the following team for the visit of the Blades: Rangers welcome Sheffield United to the Powerday Stadium - home of Hanwell Town FC - looking to follow up last week's impressive victory over their Burnley counterparts and also maintain their unbeaten start to the season. QPR Under-21s are in competitive action at their new home for the first time this Tuesday lunchtime.
And they did, but they did it in some style. The hosts ran out 4-0 winners courtesy of goals from Oli McBurnie, Anel Ahmedhodzic (2) and Iliman Ndiaye. Here is ...
Pleased with the performance and pleased for the players Good for him and good for the team put us on the front foot We knew what we needed and we could see the more we watched him there was so much to see of him and he was hooked and wanted to come here

Substitute wing-back Basham rolled the ball to Norwood, who crossed it for a cutely-guided header into the net. McBurnie looked confident from the off, he and Ndiaye stepping over the ball in the fifth minute so it could pick out Manchester City loanee and full debutant Doyle. When Berge squared Lowe’s pass Ndiaye took out his annoyance by cutting inside and finding the bottom corner. They over-stretched midway through the half, a poor John Egan pass putting them into trouble as Rhys Norrington-Davies came across to brilliantly sweep up. Last season the Blades looked vulnerable to a badly-timed injury to Billy Sharp, and Sod’s Law dictated they got one. Since his £20m signing in the summer of 2019, the Scotland international has seriously disappointed.
The Blades began the better and a double dummy saw Sander Berge's harmless pass forward fall to the feet of Tommy Doyle in front of goal, but Andy Yiadom ...
Wes Foderingham 6: Came out of his area in the second half to head clear when Joao was looking to pounce but was never troubled and had very little to do.
Then pounced on a McBurnie flick to create the opening for the third. Max Lowe 7: A lovely cross right on the money for McBurnie to head home the opener. Iliman Ndiaye 7: Had a glorious chance to make it 2-0 when Doyle flicked a lovely ball into his path to send him clean through on goal but his effort went wide. Selfless in the way he set up Ndiaye for the third. Rhys Norrington-Davies 7: Ensured his side went into the half-time break in front following a crucial interception on a two-on-one break. A fierce drive from Doyle's corner, catching it sweetly, doubled his side's lead and then capped off another fine display with a flicked header from Norwood's cross for the fourth.
