The singer has quit the world tour citing allegations against the band's frontman.

Since the allegations were made, Arcade Fire have faced calls to scrap their tour, but have so far continued to play, with a date in Manchester scheduled for this Saturday. The singer, who has been nominated for multiple music awards over the years, said that the allegations have "ignited a conversation that is bigger than me" , and has been trying to assess her responsibility and role. In her statement, she then went on to explain her decision to remove herself and her band from the world tour. "I've always written songs to name my own subtle difficulties, aspire to be my best self and claim responsibility when I need to. She wrote: "I read the same headline as you did, We didn't have any time to prepare for what was coming let alone a chance to decide not to fly across the ocean into the belly of the situation. Feist, who's full name is Leslie Feist, played the first two dates of the world tour in Dublin earlier this week, before deciding to "go home".

Arcade Fire's UK tour is set to start this week – but allegations of sexual misconduct have shattered the group's squeaky-clean image.

“This situation touches each of our lives and speaks to us in a language unique to each of our processing. I say to you all my friends, family, to anyone I have hurt and to the people who love my music and are shocked and disappointed by this report: I’m sorry. I know what is in his heart, and I know he has never, and would never, touch a woman without her consent and I am certain he never did. “I was never here to stand for or with Arcade Fire. He has lost his way and he has found his way back. There is no easy way to say this, and the hardest thing I have ever done is having to share this with my son. I have stood by him because I know he is a good man who cares about this world, our band, his fans, friends, and our family. I can do better and I will do better.” I’ve spent the last few years since Covid hit trying to save that part of my soul. I have connected with people in person, at shows, and through social media, and I have shared messages of which I am not proud. I no longer recognized myself or the person I had become. “I have had consensual relationships outside of my marriage.

In a lengthy statement to Pitchfork he said: "I love Régine with all of my heart. That simply, and unequivocally, never happened..." every single one of these interactions has been mutual and always between consenting adults. Butler has denied the allegations. She said that "the best way to take care of my band and crew and my family is to distance myself from this tour, not this conversation". Some have also taken to social media to encourage the band to take up the responsibility of reimbursing the tickets and cancelling the show.
