In a statement, the authority said: "Her Majesty has been one of the greatest and most influential supporters in the history of horseracing. We ask that you remain patient and wait for further communication from us. Her passion for racing and the racehorse shone brightly throughout her life. We would like to apologise any inconvenience this may cause. Chester Racecourse extends our sincere condolences to His Majesty The King, other members of the Royal Family and all those affected.

We ask that you remain patient and wait for further communication from us. Chester Racecourse bosses have cancelled a second scheduled autumn festival meeting as a mark of respect to the Queen. The racecourse has now updated its website and social media channels with news of the second meeting being cancelled.
