After spending the night at the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh, the Queen's coffin will today move on to St Giles' Cathedral.

The royal couple will later attend a reception. Members of the public will be able to view the coffin at the cathedral and pay their respects from 5pm for a period of 24 hours as the Queen lies in rest. Later in the evening, the King and other members of his family will mount a vigil at the cathedral in honour of their mother. Words of sympathy will be expressed by the Scottish Parliament and the King will offer a reply.
