What a delight it'd be to have this on the Switch - and dare we dream for news of Project RS3 too to boot? Treasure's been teasing a comeback for a short while, and it doesn't take too much internet sleuthing to discover exactly what shape that will take - a fresh outing for Radiant Silvergun, the studio's delightfully tricksy shooting game that debuted on Sega's ST-V and Saturn hardware, and arguably one of its finest games. [making its way to PlayStation consoles at the end of the September](https://www.eurogamer.net/everything-announced-in-sonys-playstation-state-of-play-1) it seems almost inevitable that Tunic will get a Switch port - so why not make my autumn dreams come true and let me solve some of the best puzzles in gaming on the go? With at least a year of BOTW2 expansion content likely planned, this is the last moment in some time Nintendo can monetise these fan-favourite games - and there's certainly an appetite as we all wait for Breath of the Wild's next chapter. It was the sort of oddity Nintendo was into at the time - a la Pac-Man Versus, which was brilliant.

[We've already had a go at guessing what might be in store for us](https://www.nintendolife.com/features/talking-point-what-do-you-want-to-see-at-tomorrows-nintendo-direct-showcase), but what do you think? [Breath of the Wild 2](games/nintendo-switch/legend_of_zelda_breath_of_the_wild_2) and other 2023 games is not entirely out of the question.
Tune in to Nintendo Direct September 2022 for possible sightings of Zelda, Metroid and more.
While the Switch is certainly more than a little long in the tooth now (it will turn six by the end of the winter period this Nintendo Direct event covers), we’d be surprised if an update was announced in a 40-minute showcase. What we’d really like to see is another new Mario platformer, or at least DLC for the wonderful Mario Odyssey. This would certainly help quell fan annoyance at the continued no-show of Metroid Prime 4 — a game that was first promised all the way back in 2017. Despite Nintendo UK’s unexpected pledge not to livestream today’s festivities in light of the Queen’s passing, that only applies to the UK channel. Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 technically escapes the winter window, with a Spring 2023 date promised, but we wouldn’t be surprised if it slipped in too. If you’re running late, you can just watch the embed below.
Happy Nintendo Direct day! And this promises to be a very happy one indeed, with 40 minutes of news and - fingers cross…

Apparently Iwata would love to go visit the grounds whenever he was over for business. I almost can't quite believe we'll actually get more info on the Breath of the Wild sequel. And that's out this November. Anyway, a new Project Zero! So let's just enjoy a new look at one of the games I'm looking forward to most in what's left of 2022 - Harvestella. Instead we'll get a big new action trailer for Bayonetta 3 revealing all the details straight after this Direct. Or maybe not, as I'd forgotten it's only just over a month away. It's been seven... Kami says: Imo, I think they can just announce the remake release dates. Regardless that was a fantastic Direct. And this promises to be a very happy one indeed, with 40 minutes of news and - fingers crossed - potential for a big update on Breath of the Wild's sequel.

We got a brief look at all the characters coming to the game and snippets of their story. The Nintendo Direct opened with a first look at a new Fire Emblem game titled Fire Emblem Engage. It Takes Two is coming to Nintendo Switch is a shockingly blurry port. A number of games coming to Nintendo Switch were shown off in quick succession. Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil VII and Resident Evil 3 are also coming to the cloud for Nintendo Switch later this year. It's a Niantic game in the vein of Pokemon Go, so the idea is somewhat similar. Just Dance 2023 Edition is set to feature live-service elements, where the game will be updated throughout its life and will feature a more application-like user interface. Master Detective Archives: Raincode is the title and it's coming Spring 2023. It's a classic JRPG where players must descend the tower of salvation to save the world. Resident Evil: Village is coming to Nintendo Switch through the cloud. Not much was shown in the trailer itself outside of Link jumping off of a floating platform, climbing trees, and soaring through the sky. Bayonetta 3 received a new trailer (along with an official release date), Pikmin 4 got a brief tease, and most importantly, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom was officially given a title with a release date set for May 12, 2023.
A sequel to Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild has just been announced for Nintendo Switch with a May 12 2023 release date - there's very few details but ...
From the wild back to the kingdom. I love the concept of sky islands so I hope there's a good amount of them. Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is the follow-up to Breath of the Wild, the Nintendo Switch's bestselling game and one of the most highly-rated titles on the handheld console. Another commenter, this time on YouTube, wrote: "Interesting contrast with the previous game's title. Nintendo has just dropped a brand new teaser trailer for the sequel to the bestselling Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild. The cryptic new clip showed Link entering a new world in the clouds, before revealing the title of the game.

AS a mark of respect to Queen Elizabeth II, today's Nintendo Direct won't be broadcast live in the UK.
However, as a mark of respect to Queen Elizabeth II, today's presentation won't be shown live in the UK. The classic Nintendo Switch montage was followed by news that Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe is coming to the console in 2023 Breath of the Wild 2 was saved until the end, where it was revealed that the game shall henceforth be known as Tears of the Kingdom. The September 13 Direct will be broadcast live at 7am PT/ 10am ET for fans living in the US. Even more exciting is the news that Tunic is coming to Nintendo Switch on September 27. UPDATE: Nintendo kicked off the September 13 Direct with a look at strategy role-playing game Fire Emblem Engage, which is coming to Nintendo Switch on January 20, 2023. Arguably the biggest announcement so far is the reveal of Pikmin 4, which is coming in 2023.
Today's Nintendo Direct did not disappoint, with a brand new look at The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild's sequel, …

Volume 2 will let you add the new mechanical-looking hero Ino to your party, and dress up in beachwear, because of course. I can't quite believe it's still in development, but it is, and it is coming to Nintendo Switch in 2023.
Tuesday's Nintendo Direct was a much-hyped affair, with a whopping 40 minutes dedicated to the Japanese company's portable console and its games.
Everyone started holding their breath for the possibility of maybe hearing Chris Pratt do an Italian accent, and instead they heard about a franchise that has been on life support for years and was never that popular to begin with. The dude has always been a little offbeat, which is exactly what’s equipped him to design some of the most memorable games of all time. That, and Pikmin has always been close to the man’s heart. The silver lining here though is that Miyamoto did indeed have some actual news to share: Pikmin 4 is coming in 2023. And it kind of makes sense: Thanks to the way the Direct was constructed, his appearance almost felt like a fake-out. Franchises like Zelda, Metroid, and Super Mario are all older than that, but he would never remind people that Nintendo is still working on them, that would be absurd. [Miyamoto somehow said that it was “nearing completion” seven entire years ago](https://www.kotaku.com.au/2015/09/nintendo-announces-pikmin-4-in-the-weirdest-way/). “This has always been what interested and excited me about the medium: not perfecting the old but discovering the new.” The thing is, even if you weren’t expecting news about, say, a new Nintendo Switch model or BotW 2, for whatever reason, for a brief moment it seemed like Miyamoto had something big to say. He introduced the segment by telling people the Pikmin series is 20 years old, but the company is “still” working on it. Most people kept their expectations somewhat in check for this, because Nintendo said that the event would largely focus on products coming out this holiday season. Lately he’s been focused on theme parks because it makes him feel like he’s doing something new again, and it’s just familiar enough to designing video games to spark excitement.

As per the aforementioned rumours, high profile games such as [whole bunch of rumours](https://www.nintendolife.com/news/2022/09/nintendo-direct-zelda-announcement-rumours-intensify), Nintendo has officially announced a new Direct Showcase, scheduled to air on September 13th at 7am PT / 10am ET / 3pm BST / 10pm AWST / 2am NZST. As for what exactly Nintendo will show during this Direct..?
The biggest Nintendo Direct showcase for years has revealed a host of new trialers and updates on Mario Kart 8 and Nintendo Switch Sports.
[Fire Emblem Engage](https://metro.co.uk/2022/09/13/nintendo-announces-fire-emblem-engage-with-trailer-and-release-date-17367501/), which will be out in January. That’s a bit of a shame as it doesn’t help to promote it to those not familiar with the series, but we advise watching it in full above. And for once there was a sign that the remastered tracks would feature anti-gravity elements. Square Enix won the award for most peculiar name thanks to Various Daylife – which is apparently a port of an existing smartphone role-player. Square Enix also announced rhythm action game Theatrhythm: Final Bar Line, which will include paid-for DLC that adds songs from the Saga, NieR, Octopath Traveler, and Live A Live series.
