We’ve got a big away following going and we’ll look to go and impose ourselves on the game and on the occasion.” He’s warned the Owls that his side are going to be on the front foot from off and look to take the game to their hosts, which is not what a lot of sides are able to do at Hillsborough. “We want to go there and take on that challenge, show what we’re about as a team, show what we’re about as a club.

Sheffield Wednesday left it very, very late against Ipswich Town as they fought back to draw 2-2 at Hillsborough.

Was left trying to work on scraps for large parts of the game. Worked tirelessly, but like so many others couldn’t seem to catch much of a break. Grew into the game as it went on, and was a key part in Wednesday getting back into things. Really battled to get into the game in what looked like an unfamiliar position. Playing as a left-sided centre back once again, James was asked to fill a gap in an unfamiliar position with Mark McGuinness absent. A really tough day at the office for Iorfa…

Sheffield Wednesday 0-1 Ipswich Town - Half-Time - Ipswich Town ... (TWTD.co.uk)

Kayden Jackson's sixth-minute goal has given Town a 1-0 half-time lead over Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough.

The striker latched on to the ball and confidently slammed it into the corner of the net to Stockdale’s left, the one-time Barnsley man’s second goal of the season. The Owls were seeing most of the ball with Town not looking entirely comfortable at the back. The striker crossed through Iorfa’s legs to skipper Sam Morsy, whose shot was blocked. Another one-time Town loanee, Mark McGuinness was absent from the squad. Harness and Ladapo were on the bench. But within a minute Town were in front.

Sheffield Wednesday 2-2 Ipswich Town: Blues let a lead slip (East Anglian Daily Times)

There was late heartbreak for Ipswich Town at Hillsborough, as the Blues let a two-goal lead slip before eventually drawing 2-2 with Sheffield Wednesday.

Wednesday’s first change saw Lee Gregory brought on for Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, as the hosts went to two up top, but it was the visiting side who were next to threaten as a clever touch from John-Jules freed Jackson. They pushed and prodded at the Town defence without ever overly testing Christian Walton, before the Blues went in at half-time a goal up. The forward, playing from the left side with John-Jules through the middle, picked his spot and buried it into the back of the Wednesday net at pace. Edmundson made it, as he charged through the heart of the Wednesday midfield and defence from inside his own half, before the ball eventually landed at the feet of Jackson off a Wednesday leg. First, skipper Sam Morsy had a shot blocked inside the penalty area before, with Walton out of position, Barry Bannan landed on a Leif Davis clearance and took the opportunity to shoot from inside his own half. The former Rotherham striker appeared to be a yard offside when putting the ball in the net.

Sheffield Wednesday shake themselves into action to draw 2-2 with ... (Yorkshire Post)

Sheffield Wednesday took an important point off in-form Ipswich Town at Hillsborough but they did not half make hard work of it.

A linesman had been the target on the first two occasions, but this was all in the Ipswich penalty area. Just three minutes after the second goal, Hillsborough had something to get behind. Ipswich added to it, or rather the Owls did it for them, Iorfa putting a Wes Burns cross into his own net. All three incidents, close together midway through the first half, drew groans from an increasingly agitated crowds. It would be the 89th minute before Michael Smith equalised. And central midfielder Dele-Bashiru is neither.

Darren Moore says that Sheffield Wednesday's game against Ipswich Town was at risk of being abandoned as fans fumed over the performance of the officials.

“He did warn me and Kieran that he would take the teams off and abandon the game, which would have been an absolute catastrophe for us as a football club being the home team. We got something out of the game.” “I could feel the frustration around it today,” he told the media.

The mentality and the physicality of the team shone at times today. The officiating we witnessed at Hillsborough today was nothing short of a disgrace- yet nothing will be done. @JoelGardiner20: There has to be an investigation or something into the standard of officiating at all levels of the football pyramid. We have to learn from it and I’m sure we will, because the boys are getting better and better. On his team staying top and unbeaten, McKenna said: “The unbeaten bit is nice because we’re showing a level of resilience in general. We knew we were going to have to do very well to compete. “We knew we would have to defend. They gave everything for the cause to get something out of the game. To come back from two nil down in the manner that we did after the two goals we conceded was good. We got something out of the game. He did warn me and Kieran that he would take the teams off and abandon the game, which would have been an absolute catastrophe for us as a football club being the home team. When George Byers scored from a set play, the roof game off at Hillsborough and it gave the players that bit more momentum and impetus.

Josh Windass shares honest reaction to Sheffield Wednesday's ... (Football League World)

Josh Windass has admitted on Instagram that although he felt that Sheffield Wednesday were unlucky during their clash with Ipswich Town on Saturday…

[seven direct goal contributions](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/josh-windass/leistungsdaten/spieler/280813) at this level in the current term, it wouldn’t be at all surprising if the 28-year-old adds to this tally in Saturday’s showdown with Wycombe. Despite the fact that they were not at their best in this particular fixture, the Owls still managed to show a great deal of character to secure a point in front of their supporters. Given that Wednesday’s target for the 2022/23 campaign is to secure automatic promotion, they will need to turn Windass for inspiration on a regular basis if they are to achieve this particular goal. Wednesday missed the opportunity to send out a real signal of intent to the rest of League One yesterday by becoming the first side to defeat Ipswich in a league game this season. The Owls had to produce a comeback in the second-half of their showdown with the Blues at Hillsborough after initially making a slow start to the fixture. [Sheffield Wednesday](https://footballleagueworld.co.uk/category/sky-bet-championship/sheffield-wednesday/) were unlucky during their clash with Ipswich Town on Saturday, he believes that his side can perform to a much higher standard.
